I'll have to say that 69mins till 4:20 is right about how people should stop comparing 311 with Sublime, but Sublime is very good in it's own way. And just because their albums don't go gold, doesn't mean that it's bad. That's just a stereotype man. Keep it positive.

I fuqing cant stand people who compare 311 to sublime, there is no comparison, 311 has been and is still rocking the fuqing house to shambles, while all sublime has is 1 album that went gold. Sublime is a decent band don't get me wrong, but they are NOTHING compared to three eleven. I've heard bradley knoll compared to jim moorison many times, i almost beat the sh*t outta that kid. 311 fans are either die hard or they aren't real fans. I'm a real fan. by the way the best album is transistor, and the best songs are beautiful diaster, Visit, uncalm, large in the margin, and who's got the herb

Since i heard soundsystem i've gotten hooked to these guys. 311 is a staple in the rock music community. It's not very common to hear of bands that have been around for over 13 years, but 311 has done it, and done it well. Every year since 1993 they have put out something new, whether it be an album or a home video. 311 is one of a kind because they give their fans something new all of the time. And, not to mention, they are one of the best performing bands of all time. If you haven't had the chance to check them out, do so on the Evolver tour. 311 is fantastic.

After hearing 311's Music and the self-titled album (the Blue Album), I started thinking that they were geniuses. Before Korn, Linkin Park, and Limp Bizkit, there was 311. If you want something fresh and orginal, then you might want to check out some 311 cds. I admit that I'm a new fan, but I heard 311's "Music" album first; then I heard the self-titled album (the Blue Album). If you heard the song "Misdirected Hostility," then you know the line: "I cannot handle all the negative vibe merchants"; that line was off the self-titled album (the Blue Album). If you thought Limp Bizkit was good, then 311 will change your mind. 311 is more positive, energetic, and don't talk about "BREAKING STUFF." Oh, and 311's lyrics tend to make sense, too. I can't think of one band that can do it like 311.

Some might say and people usually say present bands aren't the best..usually the older previous bands are considered the greatest ever. Well, recognition doesn't mean that the band is the best ever. 311 has been ahead of the game for a while. i would say that they're the best in rap-rock, except i dont thats where i would classify them cause its really so much more than that. i can see how they might be somewhat hard to digest at first, but anybody with an open mind to music can see the genius in what 311 is doing with music. if you haven't given it a chance, then you're really missing out.

All I have to say is one thing. 311.. is a band that has some of the most talented and creative people in music today. Nick Hexum writes songs that get anyone in the mood to just have a good time. Tim plays killer metal and rock riffs that fit perfect for SA's great raps. Chad Sexton is undeniably one of the best drummers ever in music. And P nut is the best player in rock music ever. I Love their music. I love their style. AND im going to see them play tonight in Cleveland. :) Suckers step up and want to cause friction but violence is for those who cant handle diction.

311 is one of the few bands I grew up listening to and continued to love through the years. My taste of music went through some cruel and unusual abuse (I listened to smooth jazz, AHHHHH!!!). Your taste changes through the years, and mine was no exception, I usually listen to Heavy stuff now (EX: Mushroomhead, Static-X, Orgy, Slipknot, ect.) Yet I always had a special place for 311's music. Their harmonies are out of this world and the rhythm and melodies kick booty. 311 is, in short, one of the greatest bands out there. i've been lucky enough to see 311 in concert 7 times and they have not disappointed yet. in an age where every band sounds the same with three chord guitar riffs,and "my dad didnt hug me enough" lyrics it's nice to have a band that is not only creative musically but carries a positive lyrical message. tim mahoney is hands down one of the best guitarists in rock n roll today. try to pick up a guitar and play a 311 song. it isnt easy at all. they dont get the attention or recognition at all for what they do,all of that is wasted on kid rock,limp bizkit and the 300 other rap metal bands that sound exactly the same. do yourself a favor and pick up a 311 cd or see them in concert it'll change your life

i saw incubus live in wembley arena and they were supported by 311, so after hoobastank opened out the came, and it was the worst act i have ever seen, the singer has no voice, the mc/rapper is talentless, he just chicken walked along the stage and the lead guitarist is god awful, he didnt play a single origional riff, the drummer and bassist were imho actually quite talented but without decent support are wasted, the songs all sounded similar and boring and they were very much full of themselves, even when the entire crowd was chanting for them to get off the insisted on parancing around, and when they finally said they would leave to cheers, finally, they came back, thank god hoobastank and incubus were so good

Diverse influences, musical balancing is so diverse that its difficult to really put them inside a jar and put a label that would be fair enough to encompas this mind blowing musical feast of a band. Every individual in the band makes a contribution none less than the other. Right now all i listen to is zebrahead,incubus,2 skinnee js,weezer,and the old no doubt.And writting songs is a blast. i love hearing the band mates say "wow that sounds like somthing 311 would throw out". and our drummer, he is so much into chad sexton and has adopted the styles of him along with others and ive taken the styles of tim and a mix of my own flavor and mixed up some good sounds.Im like a mix of tim mahoney and tom morello.yeah all of the albums differ in a way but it just shows they take the time to do somthing different.what i noticed with limp bizkit was that the first album was good then after that they got fans and they ate up any kind of crap they threw out there, so the next albums were complete crap and lyrically half-assed.a retarded monkey could write better lyrics.
