YOU GUYS ARE HIGH! The brothers are the best regardless! And sorry, but Dicky is NOT the band, Gregg is the band. Don't get me wrong, They were great then, but just as good now. Derek is quite a guitarist! We wouldn't be having this discussion if Dicky would just put down the bottle. Hands down the best band the, and the best band NOW. Keep on keepin' on!

Saw the Bro's in NJ on 8/23/05. Another amazing show. Saw my first show at age of 19 in 1971 at the Fillmore in NYC and have been a long time fan. Derek has grown so much as a musician in his 4 yrs with the band. He and Warren have developed a great communication over the past 2 yrs. As an old timeer have to say that firing Dicky 2 yrs ago was the right move. It brought Warren back and the band is better than ever!!. Eat a peach for peace. bob

Lauren...get your head outta your ass and get the real story before talking like you have a brain....Betts didn't leave....he was fired on his answering machine....Red Dog was also let go after giving his whole life to the Bros(plus his pension check in the begining)....All thats left without Dickey is a cover band...like Tucker without Caldwell,Skynyrd since the crash...just bar bands with good sound equipment....parodies of what once was

GET DICKEY BETTS BACK!!!If Derek wasn't related to Butch do you think they wouldve crawled the bars looking for for him....get real...stage presence of a grapefruit and stolen tone does not cut it....Greg you ol drunken whoremonger...beg Dickey to come back....I miss the real ABB

The Raleigh 2001 show was THE WORST concert ever attended. People walked out in the middle of it. They had no interaction with the audience. They sung NONE of their classics. 'Twas rock opera at its most cliched. A painful evening from the 3rd row. Never make that mistake twice. The audience could have kissed their ass.

I can definetely(sp?) appreciate your feelings on the Dickey situation, Lauren. I love the Bro's also. I have seen them twice w/o Dickey and probally 7 times with him. And, he is a wild man. But he was cut deep by men who swore to be brothers until the end before I was born. The hard part for any of us to take, I believe, is that Jaimoe and Butch turned on him.

i disagree with all of you but agree at the same time. It is true they are not the same without Dickey. But I saw them the 24th at the beacon in nyc and they were pretty damn good although they couldnt play alot of there old stuff due to probs with dickey. But every has to understnad dickey left because the whole band is clean and dickey is a wild man. I love the allman borhters I have loved them since I was 2 literally. give them a break

    Posted by Mike:
I have to agree with everyone else. Dickey is the heart and soul of the brothers and Greg just doesn't quite cut it though he was awesome with Dickey!

I knew back then that they were heading for Stardom. Dickey and Duane had that special "magic"!

    Posted by Bud S:
They played the early gig and we played the late show.

    Posted by Bud S:
I used to watch the Allman brothers practice at the Comic book Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

    Posted by mistermonkey:
Yes, the allmans are not. not without dickey.

    Posted by GJ:
The best Band , but when do they ever come to Europe ??? The world is bigger than the US

    Posted by lw:
I too was disappointed in this years tour. No doubt they are the best band EVER - but I sure missed Dickey - something was really missing. Too bad.

with only greg on stage and never talking to the fans i think the show was a flop.i waited a long time for this show and was dissapointed. nothing like the albums without betts.

best show possible. dueling lead guitars, three drummers and too many caps create a visual masterpiece. thanks to warren, a great REVIVAL for a band that not only deserves more credit but truly loves what they do. better than ever. TRB

The allmans were the best live band I've ever heard. Who needs studios when you've got D Betts and the late great Duane.

    al
Allman are trhe best american band around I have followed them from the beginning and no other babd touch s them at all. Their live shows are the best and I always try to see them when they come to my town

    Jason
The Allman Brothers died when Dickey Betts got kicked out. He was the band

    Ian
    Best band ever.no doubt

    Stephen
One of the best bands to ever play. The guys who were listening to their music thirty years ago are now enjoying the same music with their kids.
