Mike is one of the most underrated musicians today. When I saw them, he looked like he actually wanted to play and didn't look like he was being forced to, like the others. Don't get me wrong, Eddie is the Guitar King and Alex rules, but Mike is my fave.

What do "Dancin' in the Streets and "Pretty Woman" have in common?Classic imagry wonderful!

Sammy is an old perverted man...the only thing that made Van Hagar what it was, was basically just the music. If you mutted out the lyrics then it would be great. And to all you Roth fans...when Roth recorded Van Halen best of vol.1 with the band ..it probably took alot of courage for ed to even consider letting roth back in...and when he let him back in roth made a fool of himself. They had to record over and over again because Roth's voice sounded awful. even when he was in his prime age he sounded awful loud..ed and alex stole the show no matter who was singing and thats what makes fan come back to a concert.

Ahhh shut up! QUEEN is FAR FAAAR better than Van Halen. Sure they were technically a great band, have u heard dream theater, so are they but their music gets dull aftera a while

Its a real shame that people are deluded into thinking bands like Nirvana were actually as good as bands like Van Halen, Queen, Led Zep, The Stone Roses etc. Yeah Van Halen rock, this is what rock is about. Not depression, and overly meaningful lyrics. ROCK ON!

First of all if you're a Roth era fan. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! Go see the Atomic Punks and take several friends. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed by a show in my whole life. This was the first time I'd seen VH with Hager. I personally never liked the combination. I liked him in Montrose and still think he has a great voice but can't get behind the whole sound. They became watered down when dave left. I've seen VH since 1976, every tour from Van Halen to 1984. I'm not just being a bitter Dave fan, I thought Sammy did a good job of being Sammy. But hearing him sing Panama and Ain't Talkin' just doesn't do it. Alex's 5:00 minute drum solo is 4:50 too long. I didn't care for Mike's bass solo but at least he kept it to around a minute. Now the saddest part. Eddie, in my opinion the best rock guitarist ever pretty much sucked. His tone sounded like he was playing out of a transistor radio. I thought okay the PA sucks but the drums and vocals were fine. I don't know what the f**k was up with his solo? Now, don't get me wrong even on his worst day Eddie is a million times better then almost anyone and he did show flashes of Eddie past but he was sloppy and seemed like he was loaded or drunk? I left feeling really depressed, this was the band that got you so excited and stoked if you're a guitarist you went home and either practiced your ass off or just didn't play for a while out of frustration. But the people I really felt for were the poor schmucks who paid $400plus to be up front. Oh yeah, that brings up another gripe, during alot of songs they had videos playing on the Jumbotron screens, Right Now is an example, it was the same video they played on MTV. If I want to watch a video, I turn on VH1 or MTV ! Personally, if I ran into Ed or Alex, I'd tell them they owe me $160 for the money for the tickets.

The 2004 Van Halen is a pair of salesmen (Sammy with his tequila and Mike with his hot sauce) and a pair of drunk brothers. They SUCKED live, I want my money back you winos!!!

Sammy has to stop dressing like a bag lady with a mumu. Dave is the true frontman for Van Halen!

    Posted by 5150Time :
Van Halen should be a shoe-in for the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Eddie Van Halen, greatest guy to ever pick up the guitar and play period. He had picked up where Jimmi Hendrix left off. Eddie was the guy who put finger tapping on the fret board on the map, which all guitarist due today. I think that both Dave and Sammy were great with Van Halen, Jump is a great hit along with Right Now. I still think they should do another tour together. Trust me VH fans they day will come when we will see VH back on stage again blowing rock&roll through the roof the way they have done before

Does anybody who reads this stuff play guitar? I am not good, but I can play Hendrix, Clapton, Page. But Eddie? Forget it. It's on a whole new plane. The third heaven. He's so technically precise from multi thousands of hours of practice on top of God given talen right from the heart. It's like Tiger Woods. Born talented beyond description, then you work your ass off in practice every day for the rest of your life. The guy is untouchable. That's Eddie Van Halen. Simply the best of all time. And by the way, Al gets very little credit, but he writes a lot of the music and is a fine musician in his own right.

Van Halen revolutionised the rock world with their explosive 1978 debut.Eddie, who easily ranks alongside Jimi 'God in the Flesh' Hendrix as one of the most technically able and inventive guitarists of popular music, was of course the musical backbone of the band with his wildly exciting leads and amazing solos. One of the previous reviewers criticised Hot for Teacher as being a silly song.It is an amazing track, with a great riff and one of Eddie's best axesolos.Ain't Talkin' Bout Love, Jump, Panama, Ice Cream Man, Drop Dead Legs....the list of great Dave-era VH songs is endless. I dislike intensely the criticism of the Sammy Hagar period. Yes,it a tad more serious and less OTT than the Dave period, but was also more mature.Right Now,Summer Nights,In N Out,When It's Love...the list of great Sammy-era tracks is also extensive. It seems forever since VH have released anything, and I wish they would return soon and put the young, thrashy upstarts like Slipknot in their place and show us what real rock n roll music is like.

Eddie is a very good guitar player but I could think of 20 off the top of my head that are better. Jimi Hendrix would make Eddie look like a wash women. Hot for Teacher is a silly song with a cool riff and even better video. Not even in the top 1000 of best songs. VH has been awful since 1984 and sorry to say it is over for them...

Hot For Teacher is one of the greatest songs ever written (not to mention, a song that most of us can relate to) by one of the greatest bands ever

Posted by Nyssa (Eddie VH's Girl):
The greatest band to ever exist.. period.

    Andy
Van Halen- the best band ever, plain and simple. Eddie is undeniably the best guitarist ever. They're the only group who can change singers and still be on top of the world. When Roth comes back, they will kill pop and rock every other music out there once again.
