IVE AGAINST VENUS is much more than the best
band youve never heard. Simply put: FIVE AGAINST
VENUS is the Earths last, best hope for a free world.
Despite their cover story of forming on the impetus of
a Recycler Ad, as all bands in Southern California
seem to do, the origins of FIVE AGAINST VENUS are
much more epic, a genesis in tune with their status
as defenders of freedom.
At the behest of the President, Astadan, McCullough,
and Lawrence were brought together in 1994. Since
then, theyve seen high points, and low points
(having the air conditioning unit stolen from their
practice space and having their Poptopia show at
Spaceland cancelled by a power outage brought on
by El Niρo), but always, FIVE AGAINST VENUS has
stood for "Action" with a capital "A."
Apart from their day jobs as the Defenders of Planet
Earth, FIVE AGAINST VENUS haunts the LA club
scene with their brand of rocket-powered,
guitar-fueled pop. They recently recorded a new
demo, Ascend to the Stars, at the Record Plant in
Los Angeles with Jess Sutcliffe at the board. Justice
will be served.
