I would like to take this time to correct myself...for some reason I get nsync and backstreet boys, mostly because I hate both of the bands equally!! I personally hate the Backstreet Boys and any other pop tart acts out there, but I'm not gonna dis. Actually, Out of all the acts, I give BSB the most credit. I hear that they are starting to write thier own songs. They should really quicken the pace of the songs though. And "Greatest Hits Chapter 1" just cracks me up. I don't even think there's gonna be a 2nd chapter! But I said I wouldn't dis, so I'm sorry. Anyway, I am also starting to not consider them as a Poptart act. Usually when Nsync or britney or christina or whoever the hell put out a song, I ,unfortunatly, hear the song sooo many times that I know the words. where to start about the backstreet boys. hhhmmmm.... first of all, their songs are basically the same thing over and over again with only small changes in the lyrics as they are always whining about their broken hearts or their undying love for a girl who doesn't want them. The Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, Britney Spears, etc. are perfect examples of mainstream corporate media marketing. The fact that they have so many fans is a testament to how little America's youth actually think for themselves.
They aren't actually talented. They didn't form as a group, write their own music, and play their asses off to get to the top, like a decent band would. They were taught how to sing, taught how to dance, told how to act ... they were given an "image" to live up to, and become. This, my little teenyboppers, is what we call CRAP.
There are so many other talented musicians out there, who have been writing and performing their own music for years, and played hard and long hours to get to where they are. Pop trash like BSB got to where they are because they are pretty. And that's it.
I don't know how they live with themselves, existing solely as a means for the greedy record companies to shamelessly make money off of people who don't have any taste in music.
God.
Please believe me. SOmeday you will be sorry you ever were a fan of this band ... you'll be sorry you spent so much money on the crap merchandise that they sell ...

BSB started the pop revolution. Today, they are way ahead of their contemporaries. Artists like nsync and britney spears should be grateful to bsb, as all that they have got has been the result of the hardwork of bsb. All the boys have great voices. Brian has the ideal voice for recording, aj has a more nasal base to his voice. Howie d can really hit those high notes in those beautiful ballads. Nick and Kevin have got perfect voices for those fast track dance numbers. Remember that these comments are coming from a discerning music lover and not from a teenybopper.
