i'm sorry but i just cant listen to the bnl... much less hear them described as witty, are you serious??! If you think theres anyone on the planet who doesn't GET them...whew whats to get... they're like that annoying kid we all know who rehashes lame jokes from the family guy ,real witty. I'm sorry, but the fact that people actually think these mediocre geeks are funny or clever . I just can't describe how cheesey and childish and tasteless their music is. it's as though they are an experiment by record companies to see how stupid people are. seriously, if you know someone who is obnoxious, they will love them. do yourself a favor and look up the lyrics and just read them, don't sing them... maybee you will see how banal and juvenile and immature they are.. sorry! and yes, i get it. it's just not funny enough to be humor and if it is, why are they singing??!!

if i had a million dollars i would buy the rights to that song so that I could flush it down the toilet and never hear it again.

BNL sucks cak. They think they are so clever with their stupid lyrics. They have about as much talent as a toilet brush, gets the job done but nothing special. Perhaps they would benefit from not trying to be so clever. By the way, if you think that these guys "rock out", try listening to some real bands.

I'm 16 and i've been a huge fan of BNL for 3 years; i love their music because it rocks, is unique, and has depth and often puts difficult life situations in a positive light. Also, you cannot judge these guys if you have never been to a live show or heard anything but their songs on the radio (they are an AMAZING live band, and most of the songs you hear on the radio aren't even the best ones) I met them once (best day of my life!) and they were genuinely the nicest, funniest guys I've ever met. You've got to have respect for a band who really puts in effort forth for their fans www.bnlblog.com and have never really done anything to tarnish their reputation (For the record, when the band first formed and Ed just threw out one of the names they had been joking about under pressure for a gig, Steve hated it- give them a chance- these guys ROCK! cheers

I totally agree with Danielle. Honestly, if you don't have that sick, smart, witty sense of humor odds are that you're not going to understand any of their lyrics. That's just how it is... i'm sorry you're so dim witted. Take of instance "So you wanna play mind games? well thats fine go ahead 'La la la i can't hear you!' " is quite a funny line. It may seem immature but you just don't get it... and never will. There's more too it than this so-called immaturity. Also, when people say that Barenaked Ladies are more famous in the States than Canada, thats is so not true. They are at leased 100 times more treasued in Canada than the states... sorry, they're just the depeiction of Canadian music. You aren't a true Canadian if you don't know the words to If I Had A Million Dollars.

Why is it usually the homophobes who obsessed with gayness. Your supposed to be reviewing the band not ranting about "queers". I don't really understand why anyone is freaking out about it anyway, none of the members are gay. Anyway, I have found that if you aren't funloving or quirky, or have wit as sharp as a snaggletooth chances are you aren't going to like them. Have respect for the artist. I dont get why you just can't say "nah I don't dig them" chill out, be cool. Peace

Posted by xexex:
Everything about BNL is gay. Their name, their music, their lyrics, their fudge-packing fans. BNL is the very definition of gayness.

Posted by Steph:
I just saw bnl in a concert and they rocked! "shopping", and "If I had a million dollars" are myfavorates. And Y'all shouldn't discriminate against gays. I have some Gay friends, they're really nice.

Posted by Olly:
You uneducated, narrow minded twits need to broaden your musical knowledge. BNL are not only great song writers (Call and Answer.. Its all been done... my Favs)but great musicians with a nice positive bent on life... take your head out of your ass's and open your mind outside of the crap you probably listen to.

Posted by Big Bad:
"That chasey lain song" was the Bloodhound gang. If you wanna badmouth someone's music, at least get the "artist" correct.

Posted by Rainbowchik:
As a gay person, I dont appreciate your homophobia. BNL rock!

Posted by trash:
thank canadian content for these gas pumpers talent

Posted by Lit Dogg:
if i ever met these poor excuse for a band, i would give them a barenaked a$$ kicking, i hear better music when im on the toilet, any queer that likes this shît, should kill themselves to do the world a favor, sorry bout the gay little characters in the words, this site licks balls

Posted by LadyMuck:
Barenaked Ladies suck. Just listen to them, they are awful. Hate their lyrics. Hate their stupid Chasey Lain song. They are immature morons!

Posted by Kat =^..^=:
Well Steve Page may clap like a gay wad but his and Ed Robertson lyrics rock! I also like it when they don't care that much about their image half as much as the next band in line **coughcoughNSync** Plus they have the best singer ever... Steven Page. You gotta give these guys a try!

Posted by huh?:
BNL are were a comical band when grunge ruled and yet still maintained their own. That's integrity. Slayerizer is a homophobe and bigots are ignorant and irrational to begin with so you can't take them seriously on anything.

Posted by superkel:
barenaked ladies rock out! musical talent like theirs is truly appreciated by those who are mentally apt enough to understand their lyrics. the peolple who do not like them are mentally inept and cannot fathom the lyrics!

Posted by Slayerizer:
Im gonna kill u(john crane) and all the barnaked ladies members cause yall r f*cken gay queers!

Posted by Leechmaster:
Please these guys suck d**k. gods(and all the kickas metal bands out there) gonna kill these f**ets cause they make baby jesus cry!

John Crane
Check this money, these guys are bonus, trust me money

merchtallica
Total and complete trash.

kate
Hi! I'm alittle parcial to BNL, because they're my favorite band. But let me tell you why they're my fav. They're a lot like me in that people think I'm all goofy but i do have a serious side that many choose to ignore. If you want to see that in BNL just listen to Maybe You SHould Drive, or Bore on a Pirate Ship. They're also my fav.s b/c of Steven PAges Great voice and great looks!
