Blister Rust unleashes raw, attitude-laced hard rock
music flourishing in thoughtful, youthful exuberance
and high-energy antics. Songs like V-8 and Age
display the unique style the band utilizes to depict the
human condition. Blister Rust pounds the human
animal to think, and tempts the listener to reflect.
Through it all, Blister Rust punches your ears with an
attitude that is not afraid to laugh.

Band philosophy: Don't look back - it's too scary.
Press:
Blister Rust's second offering is harder, more focused,
and even scarier. The psycho-circus has only just
begun. - Cover (12/98)
The lead vocalist sounds at times as if the lyrics are
being ripped out with a pair of rusty pliers while the
rest of the band grinds out solid metal hooks and
grooves. Probably the most important aspect of this
band is their caustic sense of humor. - Tail Spins
(6/98)
I swear to God, this stuff sounds like the love child of
Blind Melon and Hanoi Rocks. Difficult to sit still. -
Aiding and Abetting (5/98)
Blister Rust is popping up on charts all over the
Northeast - just doing their part to keep the spirits
high for the holiday season. - CMJ (12/97)
Band Philosophy: Never smoke resin and always
count using your fingers.
Musical Influences: Musicians who die shortly after
the birth of their first child.
Band Aspirations: To make world peace profitable
and to teach everyone to laugh at themselves.
BLISTER RUST is:
OTTO - guitars and kazoo. Otto is an easygoing
sensitive romantic. He smashed his first guitar in
1986. He loves to fly, teach children manners, drive
around in his sleep and kiss religious women on the
lips. In case you didn't know it - Otto created the 888
toll free number nonsense. He was a straight 'A'
student who felt it necessary to cheat on every exam
and threaten any teacher who caught him. On August
12, 1979, Otto woke up before noon and almost
remembered his first and only dream. He believes
computers are evil. Otto dislikes ketchup on his
hamburgers and all forms of alcohol. He collects
butterflies. Otto still uses a guitar tuner and plays with
himself four times a year.
Rx - vocals and harp. Rex won a silver medal in the
1992 Olympics. He's an accomplished gymnast with
an uncanny sense of balance. Rex never graduated
high school due to a rare genetic reading disability -
poor eyesight. He bought glasses once but destroyed
them. They made him look smart and he was afraid
people would start asking him for directions. He
began singing the blues five years ago after his eighth
marriage blew up like a hand grenade. Rex is deeply
fascinated by squirrels. He finds it scary to watch
them run from telephone poll to telephone poll. He
has never eaten a burger. Rex once threw a ketchup
bottle and did the big job in the woods.
He occasionally plays with himself on a monthly
basis.
TERRY - Drums and whistles. Terry is a highly
emotional individual - a real ladies man. The type of
guy that likes to use his hands. Terry believes in
wearing white socks, eating seven meals a day,
lighting insects on fire, leaving discharge on fire
hydrants, making custom drum sticks out of furniture
legs, experimenting with electricity while submerged
and laughing at oncoming traffic when he drives on
the left. He is a self-taught musician and therefore a
possibly danger to himself. Many people wonder why
he cries on his birthday. Terry has been playing
drums and making prank phone calls to his
grandmother for 12 years. He is a vegetarian with a
weakness for cheeseburgers. Terry likes to play with
himself every Tuesday morning.
SPORK - bass and general bodily noises. Spork
hates anything that reminds him of himself - women
with big egos, children that are prompt, people who
grin when they release a silent one, animals that hug,
video game junkies and folks that take the back
roads. He constantly popped woody's in Social
Studies class. Spork attended the Julliard School of
Music in New York City in the late eighties. He was
expelled for pouring quick drying cement into a bunch
of tubas and then of course for hanging them as
ornaments on the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller
Center. Spork likes ketchup and pickles on
hamburgers (yet prefers goose with mayo on
whole-wheat toast). His uncle is Paul Anka. Paul
never calls him. Spork drives a truck with commercial
license plates. He loves comic books and small
insects. Spork plays with himself more than the rest of
the band combined. He usually attends to such
matters while watching The 700 Club.
