synergy, nice to hear it. but you have to realise, over creeds 3 albums, most of the lyrics are about depression etc, and although very meaningful and spiritual/soulful, not uplifting. its probably only the song "higher" from human clay and a few songs from weathered which are positive rather than negative. for example "my own prison", and "forked tongues in bitter mouths can drive a man to bleed from inside out".

well im 22 mate, and from the uk....and trust me the rock scene over here is minimal to say the least, so dont complain! you have some good bands like stone temple pilots, creed, incubus etc. i think the 80's sucked but of course there were a couple of classic rock bands. i can tell u why creed are so succesful....coz their lyrics strike a chord with a lot of introspective/depressed/soul-searching people, thats why man. most people dont see it, but its there.

Creed is a decent band. The vocals do annoy me though but he can sing. They have some fun tracks. However, they are overrated in my opinion. It goes to show the sad state of music these days to have Creed as one of the most popular modern rock bands around. Not to say they are bad. They aren't bad. But the success they've had is surprising and goes to show that there's to much crap on the air waves for them to be that successful. Popular rock music in the late 90's turned god awful and it has yet to recover. When is it going to get good again? We need something new, exciting, and good. Where's the talent at? well fairly well said pearl jam fan. but i have to be honest, the voice for me is the only similar part of the 2 bands music......with arms wide open is a greatly written song, and more creed style than pearl jam.
both bands have strong views, creeds is more introspective, depressed, and spiritual than pearl jam by quite some distance.
pearl jam fan, give ' faceless man' another listen, from human clay. i really think creed and pearl jam, beyond the voices, are very different.

First of all i want to say i listened to Human clay and it sounds that all songs are similar to me, but arms wide open really called my attention and u know why, because the first time i listened to it i was like 10 meters away from the tv and i thought 'Ohh my god Pearl Jam finally made another video', guess what it was Creed. The only thing i can say is that the only good song that cd has is higher. Second they are talented, but i cant belive why Stapps has to copy Eddie Vedders voice, this takes alot of credibility to a singer.
Third a friend of mine told me (he is a Pearl jam fan too) that in their last cd they are making their own music fo the first time, so thats speaks well of them.
Forth, any of u has been in a pearl jam concert?If so u must know they are the best live rock band nowadays (if u like Alternative-grunge music).
Marko I know what u feel about Creed cause Pearl Jam helped me the same way.
Last point, people i dont like creed at all but i think u must use some arguments, saying creed sux or creed are gay its pointless and childish.

you see the problem is that what i have isnt visible, but just as painful in an emotional way as what u have. One serious point GG, i never said my pain was the only of its kind, and i knew that coz ive helped a friend through this, shes had it since she was 9 and was absolutely screwed..so depressed she was dead on the inside, and on top of that was abused sexually.
i told her of creed, pretty soon she was listening to my own prison, and it helped her cope like it did me. Trust me, for people like me creed is deep, just like say clapton is to you. stapp's songwriting position is of depression, spirituality, darkness and hope in equal measure, and about mental pain which is REAL. its some of the most insightful music ive come across, but in that i dont include "my sacrifice" or "higher".
oh and jason, yeh i did mean it.......YOUR MOTHERS A BITCH. and you wont gt rid of me jason.

Creed is a voice for severely depressed and troubled people in todays society. This can't be seen by some, who just strike them off as unoriginal, derivative, or any of the above, as they do not see the music through the same eyes as others, and cannot understand it. they just think its simple, bland rock. And that fact makes creed even more popular with its true fans, that some cant see it......Creed is about more than just the music.

I believe Creed used to be a good band till they started doing commercial music. They became a non original, disgusting pop band. Besides, Scott Stapp's only activity is to imitate Eddie Vedder's style, and I believe he doesnt do it very well, specially after watching him sing with the remainin DOORS. Alright, let me say, for all of you who dislike creed...you are entitled to your own opinion. But I LOVE CREED. Scott doesnt attmept to be JESUS! Scott doesnt even look like Jesus! How do you even know what jesus looks like? Jesus was only painted by people and they gave their own interpertation to what they thought he looked like! Scott is unqiue and so are his lyrics. Phillips plays the drums very well and taught himself. He is remarkable! Mark is extremely good on the guitar and the three of them make an unstoppable trio! CREED ROCKS!

First of all, let me say that Creed is a very religious band even though they claim not to be. Scott Stapp tries as hard as he can to look like Jesus, but in reality he is just a no talent a$$ clown with flat vocals who treats his fans like crap. Another thing that makes me unable to listen to their attempts at creating "music" are their cheesy guitar riffs, c'mon, take a lesson from someone who can actually play the guitar like Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, or Jimmy Page. I can guarentee two things that will NEVER happen: Number one, Credd with never be in the songwriters hall of fame because their songs lick balls. And second, Creed will NEVER, i mean NEVER, be in the rock and roll hall of fame. You hardcore fans can worship their craptacular songs, but I would rather chew on glass while a cat pawed at my scrotum because he thought it was a call of yarn.

I use to be a die hard CREED fan until this year. They have cancelled their show here 2 times and I dont think that it is very nice, regaudless! I am very disappointed and will not purchace another set of tickets to see them again. I have thrown away my CD'S and tore down my full size pic of Scott Stapp that I got on EBAY. I will turn the station when I hear their songs now and change the channel when their video comes on, TOO HARSH, well I dont think so. I take this personally. They where fine to perform the other day and now they cacelled but are fine to play this weekend. I just think they dont want to play at ARCO they have cancelled twice. I will not forgive EVER!

I think Scott Stapp and the rest of the guys from Creed are totally awesome! They rock! They are so totally into their songs and music you can just feel the energy and the emotion. They do not miss a beat! They get my vote for the best band of all times! I have always been a Creed fan and always will. I think their live performances are totally awesome and make you feel so alive. I think they are so down to earth. You can tell they feed off of their fans. I would look to meet these guys up close and personal. Me and probably 4 million other people. Scott Stapp is the sexiest man living or dead ever! I do not see how anyone cannot like these guys and their music and their totally awesome and energetic performances. I am a Creed fan for life. I can't wait to go see these guys again in concert, today wouldn't be soon enough.

Here is a band who has managed to find its way into the hearts of the large corporations who insist on bombarding us with shallow, meaningless lyrics and questionable musical talent. Scott Stapp is a vapid, narcissistic mannequin whom I doubt has ever experienced a real emotion. The really amazing thing about this band is that it has found a loyal following. I can only guess that these fans have no true sense of identity, and have never experienced real life or passion.

Well, we've established that a Metallica fan likes Creed; this is enough to convince myself, a fan of good, rebellious rock (not corporate s++t) that they are worthless. This band is great. When I got their first album, My Own Prison, I was amazed. Now I'm a die hard Metallica fan, so I don't like a lot of the half ass pop/rock these days. (Goo Goo Dolls, Blink) I love HARD music. Creed effected me though. They have a great mix of in your face songs (Unforgiven, What If, Bullets), and some awesome ballads, if you can call them that. Their guitar bass are so heavy when they play it's awesome. Human Clay was a little weird at first, but I really got into it. Weathered is a great album. When Stapp really gets mad at the mic, it sounds awesome. I can't even think of calling this Christian Rock. That's with acoustic guitars and "holier than though" singers. They say the word GOD once in awhile. Hell, they might be talking about suicide, or how someone is pushing religion on them, or how IN AMERICA we stamp "in GOD we trust" on another God. It resembles Metallica to me in many ways of a solid message. NEVER do they say PRAISE THE LORD!!!

I have both "Human Clay" and "Weathered" and I would like to say that they're an excellent band with a good message instead of bands who always seem pissed off at the time and are always screaming thing is some people call that music me I call it something I can't bear to hear. Anyways Creed is one of the best out there and I appreciate the message he gives.

To Ed Willis: Scott Stapp does not have a small vocal range. The only reason that he had trouble hitting the high notes on Light My Fire is that his voice is so incredibly low. At one point on the first track of My Own Prison, Scott Stapp comfortably sings a G below the C below the C below middle C. The note that he hits is actually an A, but he falls off of the A to the G. That is amazing. And when he sings that note, it doesn't even sound like the lower ends of his range. Who knows what the bottom of his range really is, but it is extremely low. I would guess that he has a full vocal range of at least two and a half octaves, which is absolutely not limited. Investigate a little deeper the next time you make a statement like that.

In my opinion, Creed is one of the best rock bands there is right now. Their lyrics are very deep and meaningful and really hit you in the heart. They have gone through their rough times and pulled out strong by expressing themselves through their music. Scott Stapp is a very talented vocalist and how many rock bands sound that good with just one guitarist. Mark Tremonti pulls out all the greatest rifts i've ever heard. Scott Phillips is an awesome drummer as well and so was Brian Marshall before he left the group. However their bassist that went on tour with them was just as good. Maybe not everyone likes Creed and you are entitled to your opinion, but I believe that they are truely talented musicians who enjoy what they do and express themselves very well through their music and i respect them for that. Keep up the great work guys!!!

Creed is a very talented band and is one of my favorites. To "Sceptic" weren't the Beatles a trend or the popular thing when they came out and aren't they now considered legends by many? Just because a band is popular doesn't mean they're untalented or that their fans are "trendy and shallow". And to Ed Willis, yes Jim Morrison was an amazingly talented man and it's hard for anyone to compare to him, but Scott Stapp is also talented in his own ways and shouldn't have to be identical to Jim Morrison to be considered talented. I read somewhere that Scott Stapp is also a fan of The Doors, like yourself, and I'm sure this was his own way of paying tribute to someone he admires. Who cares if he doesn't sound exactly like him, he still did a great job!

Hello huntsvilleans. I used to live in Huntsville. But me and my wife moved 650 miles to get away from it. All I remember about the town is that the police always harrased me and they wouldnt sell ac/dc tickets at madison sq. mall. And some church folk demenstrated outside the vbcc at a motley crue and y&t concert and I just wanted to see y&t wich were not that bad. But I ghess its o.k. to have creed concerts there. Thats a double standard and discriminating towards metal. These uppety as*holes in huntsville used to call me trash when I was a teen just because of something shallow like my looks. Ghess what my life is like now? Im married, have to beutiful kids, and net about 40 k a year leagaly,own my own home(paid for)havent been arrested,dont cheat or beat my wife and have been clean for over 11 years. Wich I count my blessings all the time and thank god for what I have. And here comes the good part. I acomplished all this while still listening to heavy metal(black sabbath for example) and never have cut my hair. Maybe theres a lesson to be learned here.

Despite the critics' comments, Creed is probably the best hard rock band, now that the Pumpkins are gone. Their music is not only really heavy and great, but it shows remarkable talent. Also, Stapp doesn't feel inclined to scream, like most of today's most popular trash-rockers. Creed is a return to what rock should be.

I recently viewed the video "Arms Wide Open" and was in amazement due to the imagery and celtic tone. The song is heartfelt and masterfully delivered by both musicians and singer. I made a point of aquiring CD that day and was not let down. The whole work is intensely soulful and utterly enjoyable. Hopefully, this recent arrival will continue to gift us with their music. It is destined to be classical rock in the end.
