Deftones are awesome. Every cd has something good in it. It's a shame they're making on last album then spliting. But that's life, nothing last forever. They are cool live. I think they're quite original. By they way, it was the weed that made them gain a few extra pounds.

Deftones repetitive? um, yeah White Pony is a carbon copy of Adrenaline. No!, BS all the way. Ok, Maynard has the best voice in music, but Chino is more talented based on his vocal range, from the shrills to the loud screams to the high note singing, to ferocious yelling (adrenaline)

Deftones, as a whole band is amazing. for those of you who say that they are sh!t .....your taste in music is way off. take a moment and put your favorite deftones cd in. when you here the music it makes your day that much better dosent it? the new cd is amazing "Minerva" really does have the same feeling as "Be Quiet and Drive" has for Around the Fur.
I give the new album ***** 5 stars.

Im not here to go on and on about how much i love the deftones, im here to write a proper reveiw of their latest album, Deftone (self titled).I am a HUGE deftones fan but when it comes to reveiwing albums i try to be as raw as possible, so here it is.......upon first listen of the album it was very different to their previous material.It is much darker and moody.Once i had heard the album through for the first time i was suprised at how different it actually was.Its a much heavier outing for the band and is pointing in the right direction for them musically, but this is NOT an easy listening album, it will take a couple of listens to get used to the album because of some of its unexpected throws, and key changes throughout.For instance,'Good Morning Beutifull' makes you say 'what?' due to the sudden and unexspected hook on the chorus ,the song starts out very melodic and optomistic until the chorus strikes a low gritty tone swaying the feel of the song in a totally different direction.Other songs like the opener 'Hexegram' hit hard on the ears and makes the band come across much more heavier than ever before,'Minerva' is an instant highlight of the album like 'Be Quiet And Drive' was for 'Around The Fur'.one of the most grittiest and dirtiest tracks on 'Deftones' is 'Bloody Cape' along with 'When Girls Telephone Boys', they are very very heavy, which is an exciting change from the melodies of 'Minerva'.
other highlights of the album are the melodic but heavy 'Battle-Axe' and the closing track 'Moana'.This is an album that sums up all of Deftones' carrier, it has hints from their previous 3 albums while still feeling new and fresh.Although it can seem dreary and depressing at first the melody soon takes over and makes this album an interesting melodic experience.*****

Deftones are a great band, all 3 albums will blow you away. Great metaphors, realy thought provoking. Live they usually just get realy drunk and whine a lot. And STANS KITTEN, how can you say that? He's a fat mess (too many beers)

Umm Deftones do rock..Specially when they got Maynard to rock with him in Pasenger...thier voices sound great together..I still think Maynard has the best voice in rock though

the deftones can do more drugs than any of these crybabies. if you dont like it dont listen, but if you think that their music sucks, you're wrong brother. They get so trashed and still put on a damn good show. for that, they earn my respect.

DEFTONES ARE SIC! Chino's voice is just unbelievable. He can just hit any note and carry it like hell. The tones themselves rock. I suppose it is a "aquired taste" but it's kinda like not liking how a strawberry tastes. I can't par with people who think the tones suck. To each his own I guess. I admit when I first heard them (My own Summer) I had no intrest in keeping up with them. THEN my taste changed (thank God). I don't know why I didn't like them at first but I love these guys now. Especially 'Digital Bath", what an amazing song! Quite frankly the Deftones rule and thats all their is to it. So, "Shove it!"

Chino's voice, is gotta be one of the worst in the music industry.Their albums are repetitive. They bring nothing new to the table.Which is not always bad, but they just suck.Maybe if they got a different singer, then they might have a chance at becoming descent.

The Deftones are the greatest band of all time. I admit that I hadn't heard of them utnil the White Pony album, but it came out, and i bought it and loved them to death! Every song on there is the sh!t, and i love Passenger. Chino sounds so hot! Now, they are my favorite band.

I was recently forced to go see the Deftones and Godsmack show and it was everything I expected it to be:crap. The best part of the show was the Camel stage where they gave away free cigarettes. Save your money cause if you Like this stuff then you don't know what music is.

I saw Deftones and Godsmack on 8/13 2001 up in Minneapolis. Deftones blew the whole place apart, it was the best live show I've ever seen. Godsmack was good, but nothing compared to the Deftones. Most of the crowd bum-rushed the stage and the mosh pit kicked ass. When Chino came out into the crowd, I was right there while he was screaming "My Own Summer" it was the coolest thing ever!!!!

I have never been a "total" fan of any band,that is until I discovered the DEFTONES! I love the music, the lyrics, and Chino Moreno's sultry and sexy vocals. The whole band ROCKS! I just say them in concert for the first time in New Orleans. I love the Deftones even more, now than before.

It rocked! That's all I'm gonna say. We didn't have the greatest seats in the world, but I had fun. Deftones were awesome and Godsmack was better than I expected. And Chino waved to me! :)

I'm going to see them tonight... unfortunatly I have to sit through what ever horrible bands are opening up for them(I heard them, this is how I KNOW they're bad, don't remember the names though) and then I have to endure Godsmack's new crap (old stuff was ok) cuz it's my friend's favorite band on earth, but I get to see Deftones and hear the very sexy Chino sing me songs so I guess I'll be alright. :) More than alright. Now all I need is for Tool to come see me and then my year of concerts will be great. :)

Great band. Not like most of the neo metal bands which incorporate too much rap. Unlike limp and korn deftones can actually sing okay.
