Good Charlotte Rocks. There is no band better. Their Music is inspirational, motivational, poetic, beautiful, and musically perfect. With every cd they put out, they keep growing and evolving into better musicians and more professional musicians. On the last cd, the songs sounded more polished and done-up. Where-as in the first cd everything sounded like it was recorded in a studio with a very limited budget(as it probably was). They've always got something interesting and profound to say. It's just always been that way.I am an aspiring guitarist myself, and Benji being a fellow guitarist (and a pretty damn good one at that) speaks to me. He's punk, he's gothic, but he loves to be funny and smile and "everybody on the wall of chains! You should have been at the club last night! raven got wipped!" He is beautiful. I love that he does both at the same time, plays guitar and sings that is. Not that most rock bands dont do that, I just admire him because he's so melodic. It's Great. :-D I LOVE YOU BENJI!!! Good Charlotte is by far the best band ever. I love each of the members in the band no less than the other. I dont hate or dislike any one. what is wrong with people today? Kids are so friggin dumb and narrowminded. not only does good charlotte suck, but so do all the rest of those so called "punk" bands that have exploded over the last few years. This is not punk music, it is sissy pop rock, and inches away from boyband sh!T. this is pure crap. Musci is so bad today I'm worried about the future of the planet. So many crappy bands filled with brainwashed fools who learn a few power chords and call themselves guitar players. Musci in general has sold out. Rap, rock, RnB, all of it is the same. Good Charlotte are not the least bit talented. They sold their image and their disproportional backround. Let's get the record straight, neither sum 41, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, nor Good Charlotte are punk. How can you allow yourself to be sold on a genre that you have no clue about? If you listen to the Bands that started the Punk Revolution, you'd here the difference. (David Bowie, Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, The Ramones, The Clash.) They aren't Punk, they aren't rock, they are the Backstreet Boys tattooed and dressed in black to fit in with the melodramatic adolescent mindset. I'm not telling you what or what not to listen too, but you people have no right to say that Good Charlotte is punk just because MTV sold you the idea that it was.

I think that Good Charlotte rocks. They sing great music that actually might change somebodys life instead of having that crap that doesnt mean anything. Sure they have just some cool songs that are nice to dance to every one on a while like girls and boys that can be just for fun but every band needs a couple songs like that. And they also stay true to there fans. Benji and Joel have been through so much ( im not sure about billy paul or chris ) and its amaizing to see how far they have gotten and how much the've acomplished all of these years. GC 4 life! Good Charlotte- now what we have here is a great, fresh band that got ruined by a bunch of groupies and MTV. No, their not punk, dressing black doesn't mean they think their punk. Plus, Billy Martin their guitarist has said in interviews that they dont consider themselves punk and nobody should. Another thing, they play just as good as any other pop-rock band out there, so stop slating them for that. Girls & Boys was their only pop song, but that song was SUPPOSED to be fun, supposed to be mindless, supposed to be like that. Listen to "The Young & The Hopeless" or "Walk By", those are rock songs.

Good Charlotte - Punk-poop (punk-pop)
Sum 41 - Punk-poop
New Found Glory - Punk-poop (barely even that, they're more like just pop)

Sex Pistols - Real Punk
Clash - Punk
Circle Jerks - Punk
Green Day - Punk-pop (though undeniably awesome and the whole reason that GC and NFG even exist)
Dead Kennedys - Hardcore Punk
Misfits - Hardcore Punk

Blink 182 - Punk-poop
Umm yeah if you want proof, compare the song titles and lyrics of each of those bands. Punk bands typically have rebellious lyrics and snotty, sarcastic attitudes, while those "punk-poop" bands have mostly just crappy love songs and stuff.

If you want real punk, then go to the 70's and 80's and listen to kick-ass bands like the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Misfits, and the Dead Kennedys. People have the misconception that Sum 41 and GC and Simple Plan and NFG are all "punk rock", when in fact they don't even constitute punk. Punk is characterized by rebellious and sarcastic lyrics, a simple, harsh, non-poppy melody and the do-it-yourself vibe. All those bands you think are "punk" are really just pop rock bands that overdub guitars and don spiky hair to look punk.

I like them because they are like normal people. They're flawed. As it is, they have great music, and the faces are just a bonus. As long as their hearts are in the right place and their music stays as great as it already is(Which is deffenent) I will always be a fan, no force in Hevan or Hell could get me to hate them. They've saved my life as corny and pathetic as it sounds, it was through the "Hold On" video, it made me stop trying to kill myself. I thank them for that, though they dont kno I exist.

Okay, i think some of you guys need to simmer down a little. All of you people saying that Good Charlotte aren't punk, who are you to judge? Why do you get to define what is punk and what isn't? The majority of the people that have written on this message board say that GC are punk and i fully agree 100% So what if there are 5th graders (how old is that by the way? like 11? I'm from New Zealand so i wouldn't know how the American school system works) they are allowed to like the music and people are allowed to say that this person is hot or whatever but they also like the music too. I'm not going to comment on all the Sum 41 people because i've only heard a couple of their songs and i don't think they sound what my impression of punk is, to me they sound kinda poppy, but i haven't heard all their songs so i can't judge. You people have got to respect others opinions!! I don't believe that GC are posers, i think that is an unfair label placed on them by others who have probably only heard Lifestyles, take the time to listen to their CDs and you may change your mind. Songs like Emotionless are as far from pop as you can get. Also i really respect GC for how they talk to their fans at concerts (I saw a concert 2 days ago, bloody awesome!) They reach out and talk about serious issues like suicide. Hold On was written after a 14 year old girl heard GC talking about suicide at a concert and she wrote to them, telling them how she was seriously considering ending her life but what GC said helped her. And just this morning, this radio station were interviewing Joel and they got a fax from a girl thanking GC for helping her friend decide to get help for her depression. Now, would a pop band do that? can you imagine Britney doing that? i don't think so, but thats just my opinion. And please stop ragging on the people voicing their opinions on who they think are hot. I happen to think that all of GC are hot, but Joel more than anyone else and i am allowed to say that and so is everybody. I believe that GC's music is awesome, and inspirational for people who may not be as well off as others and who come from broken homes like Joel and Benji. Whew! glad i got that out of my system! I love GC for their music and i hope others do too.

Man, GC is awesome! There are songs that plays out of nowhere and I get hooked on and think, 'wow, they are good... who is it?' and songs I think 'sheesh, get a life' but after a while I get USED to it... Good Charlotte was the frist type... There aren'y many songs like that to me and when I got the cd's I thought they were all good... They speak about being my age group and how life is... They are great... And the posing thing... People keep trying to downgrade artists saying they are posers... Did you ever think its their style? Who the heck gives a crap about how they dress? They are music artists... As long as their music's cool, who cares?

I think Good Charlotte are a bunch of posers who couldn't play punk rock if their lives depended on it. You want real punk rock, download songs from bands like Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, The Germs, Husker Du, The Offspring, Minor Threat, and/or Bad Religion or purchase their albums. Then compare these bands songs to Good Charlotte and you'll hear a big difference because the bands I mentioned are real punk while Good Charlotte is POP!! Remember: if it isn't fast paced, energetic, hardcore, and/or offensive, it isn't punk and if you listen to bands without these qualities and dress punk, you are a motherf*ckin POSER!!

Who really cares about what 'type' of music they are. They're the greatest band ever. Their music is from the heart and that's what I like about them. It's annoying how people only like them because they think one of them is hot or whatever. Good Charlotte are the best and if I didnt live in Australia I'd so go and see them in America! :(

ive been reading some of the crap reviews written about good charlotte, but more on that later. first off, i would like to say that they kick ass. they are real punk music, unlike some of the pop out there "claiming" to be punk "cough" sum 41 "cough". which brings me to my next point. i agree with sk8 100 percent on the fact that u stupid little groupies dont deserve to even own the damn cd! to compare these guys to the likes of a boy band and to call cum 41 a punk band is outrageous. stupid 14 year old groupies!

GC is the most refreshing punk band these days. They talk about REAL issues but with a fun,spunky attitude w/no cursing. I got the chance to see them live when they came to indy, it was an experience i will never forget......these guys are awesome!!! love all around

It has boy band potential- a HOT lead singer solely dubbed as 'Joel', swear-free lyrics, and songs that are prone to getting perpetually stuck in your head. But yet, their punk factor rivals Sum 41. They play their own instruments, of course, write their own songs, and have something to say. Their honesty sends Eminem into hiding. Take for example their sing 'little things'. It's all about how they were made fun of in High School. The first words out of thier mouths on the track are:
"Hey, this song is dedicated to every kid who ever picked last in gym class, to every kid who never got a date to any school dance, to any one who's ever been called a freak, this is for you!"
Or take Waldorf Worldwide, their second single. Its all about the time before they were signed for a record label and were really poor.
