Big guitars, dramatic vocals with haunting harmonies
and bold lyrics powered out by Inside Scarlets' two
front women create some of the most intense sounds
that have ever come out of Las Vegas. But that's just
the beginning of this original quartet.
Scarlet began as a coffeehouse band, playing to
exponentially growing crowds. They never intended
to be a cafι fixture, but it was the only way the group
could launch itself into a scene dominated by the
"Las Vegas Lounge Bands." Before long, the band
vaulted out of the cafes into the clubs. A series of
performances at The Boston, Tommy Rocker's and
The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, among
others, wound up to a strong showing at a talent
showcase hosted by Jagermeister. (They were one
of five bands chosen nationally) One of the judges,
City Life rock music critic, Andrew Kiraly, described
the band as "In a word; Great! Stomping down fences
between sibling alt rocs. They were at turns booming
and subtle, steadily fulminating in between tricky,
eclectic, jagged and smooth."
Inside Scarlets' music is grounded in songwriting and
bare emotion. The kind of introspection that cannot
help but conjure up massive doubts in the artist. It is
a trait they share with poets, painters and other
musicians. "There isn't anything that we've written
that we don't feel strongly about, that we haven't
given every part of ourselves to," says Heather. But
it's this honesty that Inside Scarlet's loyal following
can identify with and it's what keeps their following
growing.
Scarlets' live performances match the magnitude of
their songwriting. They are a live band of rare
intensity. Each performance is a sensory explosion
that leaves the band exhausted afterward. "Playing
live is the payoff for us. It's what we do best," says
Sharay. "I've played in a lot of bands who just played
original songs because they knew they were
supposed to," says Mike. "This band truly enjoys
playing original music."
Inside Scarlet has been featured in many clubs in the
Las Vegas area - The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel
& Casino, The Railhead at The Boulder Station Hotel
& Casino, MGM Hotel & Casino, Fremont Street
Experience, Tom & Jerry's, UNLV, The Boston,
Fatdaddys and many others.
Inside Scarlet is currently sponsored by
JAGERMEISTER after a nationwide Battle Of The
Best Unsigned Bands contest and is preparing for
their regional tour to promote the release of their
debut CD Red.
