Monaco
the mastermind behind Low-tek, is probably best know as the Lead
guitarist of Chicago's Enuff Z'nuff. His first love however is his band
Low-tek. This incarnation of Low-tek grew out of Johns former project,
pinch.
With
Low-tek Monaco writes all of the music, takes center stage as lead singer
as well lending the Low-tek sound his trade mark guitar styling. Taking
the groove of the 60's British invasion, and giving them a 90's alternative
feel, is what Low-tek excels at. His song writing ability really shines
on the forthcoming 4 track demo's which were in fact recorded in Monaco's
bed room on a four track. Monaco's Lennon'esq vocals are at the core
of these songs, as well as the groove that captures the soul of Low-tek,
the fine mix of several different genres to create a pleasure pallet for
the ears.
Monaco's
musical roots and influences can be found interwoven throughout Low-teks
music. Having grown up on the Beatles, and Cheap trick, it would
be easy to just copy from those artist, yet Monaco seems to have captured
the essence of these artist, and made them his own.
While
Monaco is still very much a part of Enuff Z'nuff, Low-tek is going strong
playing gigs in the Chicago area, and shopping for a label for their catalog
of music. A self produced CD should be available in late 98, and judging
by the material a Major label title should soon follow.
