I went to see Deep Purple and Skynyrd at Wembley this year, and Skynyrd blew Purple away, it was fantastic. I've been a fan of both bands for years, and had gone to see Purple mainly, but for me Skynyrd got the crowd on their feet and delivered a superb show. Rickey Medlocke on fine form, Johnny's vocals superb and Gary Rossington stalking round the stage with flawless playing. I'd almost forgot Purple would be playing. They didn't follow Skynyrd, they couldn't, they were simply the band on after them. I wish Gary Rossington a speedy recovery and I can't wait to see them again. Cheers, Andy J

How this band is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is Beyond me. Lynyrd Skynyrd represents what Rock and Roll is all about. Passion, Desire, and a lust for the simple life. Lynyrd Skynyrd was not some clown act who depended on pyros and make-up; they went out, played, and left... No pretense about these guys (especially Ronnie Van Zant--God Rest His Soul) they entertained crowds night after night with their straight forward brand of music.

So you're going to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert this year huh? Get ready to get knocked on your ass with the full force,full-tilt,double barrel blast of the best Rock-n-Roll has to offer!!! From the Thunder Bass of Ean to the non-stop Cannon fire Cartellone fired up on the Drums to the unrelentless triple lead assault of Gary,Huey, and Ricky,to the finest Piano Player in the buisiness to Mr.Johnny Van Zant's powerful vocals delivered with a vengence and a resilience that can be found nowhere else. When you add the back-up vocals of Angels from Heaven Dale Krantz-Rossington and Carol Chase and you have explosive power that would blow anyone on the planet off the stage fast and furious! With no introduction the magic was alive and well with Workin' for MCA,one song after another made one proud to be a fan of this great band,Preacher Man,Workin',Through it All,and for Leon, everyone lit their bics for Simple Man. Tuesday's Gone,Gimme Back My Bullets,Gimme Three Steps, and a last minute decision to play You Got That Right!! And Sweet Home Alabama and Freebird ignited the stage which caught fire and and quickly spread,as the Skynyrd band saddled up and rode away, you can see the orange glow in the distance as Orlando was left in flames!! I was so proud to see folks of all ages and all walks of life coming together to boogie shoulder to shoulder with pure Americana Rock-n-Roll served up Southern style in Skynyrd's home state of Florida,we all forgot our troubles for awhile. The spirit of Ronnie,Allen,Steve,Cassie, and Leon was felt by all as the Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd is played Loud and Live!!! God Bless Lynyrd Skynyrd!! God Bless America!! God Bless us All!!! Lucky
