An Oral History
The roots of Oral Groove can be found in a basement in Brooklyn many moons ago. Joe Mannix and Ed
Fingerling were then just a couple of guys who listened to bands like the Clash, the Buzzcocks, Devo and
Black Flag. They began their musical collaboration with a crappy drum set and an even crappier bass
guitar.
Since then, Chris Peck and Bob Brochu have joined the group and rounded out the current line-up. With
Joe now on lead vocals (most of the time) and rhythm guitar, Ed still on bass, Chris on drums (a good set
of drums) and Bob on lead guitar, Oral Groove cuts a sound you wont soon forget. Their mix of
hard-edged power-pop, punk and alternative music has made them one of the most popular bands in
New York City.
