This band is the best

Posted by floydfreak:
a truly amazing band with an equally amazing history. there music is so mysterious and when listenign to it you become obsest and want to know more abotu each song. as much as i want to say that the floyd died in 1994 after the division bell was realesed they infact died when waters left in 82 they were never quite the same after he abanded them

Posted by matt521:
Pink Floyd is definately one of the best rock bands of all time. They used so many different sounds while sounding like hard rock at the same time. there will never be another Floyd

Posted by high hope:
I think that Pink Floyd rocks because they put in so much emotion.escpially because they have some really cool lyrics and i think that they have a lot of meaning

Posted by Anthony:

Pink FLoyd Rocks!!!

Posted by Jon:
It is completly impossable to compare the Floyd to any other rock band in history because no one else ever came close to the musical brillence of the Floyd. Sure there were/ are more skilled musicians both then and now but it was nothing to do with skill. Everything in Pink Floyd's music from Meddle forward seems to be like a puzzle, put together absolutly perfectly. Once Waters left the band it killed alot of the creative drive and the Gilmour era was more a few good songs and spectacular shows than the brillence of the Meddle-Wish You Were here group. Animals, The Wall and the Cut are all too dark for my taste. It was when the whole band, not a single one left out, really put in thier all that they truely shined. I think many bands today could really learn alot from these monumental legends of Rock & Roll. My #1 band as I can listen to but one song from them from the Meddle-WYWH era all day and not tire of it one bit.

The Floyd kicks ass exspecailly the Wall

Posted by AHHHHHHHH:
Possibly the greatest band ever. Unfortunately I didnt have the chance to listen to them back in the hayday, but wow, i dont think ill ever get tired of Pink Floyd.

Posted by al:
i was fortunate enough to have a super cool mom who was actually in a pink floyd cover band, so luckily i grew up listening to nothing but floyd and im so thankful that i grew up listening to music that truly defines brilliance. the other night when i was drunk a freind put in the wall cd and i hadnt listened to it in years and it literally alomost brought me to tears. every thing about that album is so amazing. words cannot describe how good floyd truly is

Posted by tobee1:
By the way like electric phase said, a tour with Waters would be unbeliveable, I would probably pay a stupid amount to see that!

Posted by tobee1:
What can you say about Pink Floyd,I'm 22 and have grown up listening to their music from an early age, I have most of their albums, from Piper at the Gates of Dawn to Pulse. Gilmour's guitar playing is awesome, and some of the live drumming on Pulse was incredible..I LOVE PINK FLOYD!!

Posted by PINK_FLOYDIAN:
Pink floyd is by far the greatest band there ever was but i have one complaint. People out there who only listen to the radio claim they are hardcore floyd fans. i wish people would get albums like ummaguma or relics. The live version of careful with that axe eugene still makes me shiver

I am glad these are very positive reviews...Pink Floyd is my most favorite band & David Gilmour is my most favorite guitarist. Finally...some constructive critizisem on the Gilmour-era Floyd. There will never be a band as creative & original as Pink Floyd!!!

Posted by me is who i am:
Floyd to me is just amazing, isnt it a coincidence that the song "DOGS" is the song that most describes my bad and depressive sides. Dogs and Shine on are my favorite. Echoes (the song) was just a trip into the minds of floyd. I will love them until the day i die. This band and others like Zeppelin are what we need today besides this POP bull

Posted by Shley:
I think Floyd is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. I really love the few early albums they recorded with syd barrett. Those albums speak to me more than the albums the band recorded after barrett left the band.Don't get me wrong tho, I still like the albums without syd.I'am not to crazy about Dark Side of the Moon, it kind of bores me after a few listens. The Wall is a great album and success for Roger Waters, I cannot listen to it all the time tho because it is just to sad.I think that Wish You Were Here is an excellent album, I love the song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". I underestimated the album Echoes tho, when buying it I was kind of leary, cause i expected it to be like any other greatest hits type of album. Now I wonder what was going thru my mind at the time, I should have never doubted the Floyd's ability to create an awesome album. Echoes is just so well put together, and is a great mix of songs thru out the band's career, it shows you just how creative and true the band's lyrical content is, it also shows each member's instrumental talent. My all time favorite Floyd song tho is "See Emily Play", I dont know why, it just really lets the band's creativity shine thru, and since I am an artist myself that is something I value. Ok i'll stop now... Pink Floyd is a great band, but even calling them great does not do them justice

Posted by A brick in the wall:
I cannot adequately describe the intense feelings I get from listening to Pink Floyd. I am often driven near tears by the sheer brilliance and beauty of their music and lyrics. No band, past or present, can match the ability of Pink Floyd to write such amazingly heartfelt and compassionate songs about life and human nature. These days, when the main message of most bands is "f*ck you," people, especially those currently growing up, need to hear Pink Floyd's eloquent brillance more than ever, so that they can learn to repudiate the Fred Dursts of the world to seek only to make money through the corrosion of kids' minds, rather than to make art through the uplifting of people's spirits.

Posted by buschman:
I am an old retired guy and the floyd is about the only music I listen to.

Posted by Crazy Diamond:
Unlike most of my friends, I simply cannot get into todays music. not when there are so many real, hardworking, creative gods of rock in the past, none more than pink floyd. Meaningful lyrics, powerful guitar pieces, mind blowing keyboard and organwork, and heartfelt vocals. Good bands have some of these, great bands have most of these. Pink Floyd has all of these

Posted by electric phase:
They haven't recorded in 8 years and Echoes sells equivalent to current so called talent,no i don't need another stones tour i have to see roger Waters on stage with the rest of floyd,i like roger's solo material but just one tour Roger, stay at your side dave will stay at his side, ignore dave whatever, just do it

Posted by Not You:
Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands to date. Their cobination of synthesizers and eerie sound effects blends perfectly with the screaming guitar leades

Posted by satan santro:
from their early day with syd barret, floyd will be marked as the most underrated band ever. Guys scream about poetic skill of dylan or cohen but i think roger waters outnumbers them all.his lyrics of "the dark side of the moon" & "the wall" could not be praised with mere words.alas to generation-y floyd seems obscured.we need floyd back when show business rather than music reigns over chart.

Philip
I consider Pink Floyd as the greatest rock band of all time.Waters is a genius and Gilmour is a great guitarist. The Wall is their best work. It's an album with a great, dark atmosphere ,psychedelic music and awsome lyrics. They are great

George
Pink Floyd was quite a revolutionary band, and they definitely helped to introduce a new style of music, a style where the songs blended together, not like the singles-churning groups of their hey-day.

Mattxx
Pink Floyd is considered by some as one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. Pink Floyd ranks 1st in my book. There are some people who think that Pink Floyd was better with Roger Waters in the band. I agree only up to a certain point. The albums, A Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here, were brilliant albums. Animals was OK. The Wall was very good as well, but to me it was too dark. I believe that Waters was right tha the band was a dead as a creative force. However, I mean this in the sense that Waters could not add anything to the band in a creative way other that something dark and depressing. The Gilmore Floyd was more upbeat but lack the creative spirti, except for some songs on the Division Bell, like High Hopes, A Great Day for Freedom, and Poles Apart. There have been speculative rumors that Waters may join the band again. Hopefully new creativity will come into play if this happens. So far there hasn't been amy new album information lately.

Anton
More range than almost any other rock band, from acid-child space rock to dark satire to songs of great sadness.

christian
Pink Floyd a musical machine unlike any other. Truly one of the greats.
