| Rancid
is a Classic Punk rock group from the Bay area of California. They
have an old school punk rock sound that is a refreshing change from all
the NOFX influenced bands of today. Rancid is up in the ranks of such bands
as the Sex Pistols and The Exploited. Their guitar driven backbone drives
Tim Armstrong's anthem lyrics. They formed in 1991 when Tim and Matt
met Brett and they recorded their debut self titled album. Lars Freeman
joined the band soon afterward and contributed his unique guitar
styling and vocal abilities. Tim and Matt have been life long friends
and they also played together in the band know as Operation Ivy together.
Rancid went on to record two successful albums And out come the Wolves..
in 1996, and Lets Go! in 1994. Their Videos for Salvation, Ruby Soho,
Time Bomb and Nihlism received much airplay on MTV. Their latest effort
entitled Life wont Wait" was released in Spring of 1998. This album has
their same Classic Punk sound and with some ska elements as well. The Record
was recorded at their new studio at Tim's House and also at studios in
Jamaica. Rancid delivers great recordings and there live performances are
equally as exiting and give all the intensity and power of their studio
recordings. |
