Tour Taking Shape March 26, 1999 Gary Levelius :: FIELD REPORTER

With SONY planning a June 15th release of the new, as of yet untitled, RATT effort, the Summer tour is beginning to gel. It appears that the tour will launch over the Memorial Day weekend, with L.A. GUNS joining the previously announced lineup [see below].

Among the first dates confirmed are Cleveland on 5/29, and Detroit on 5/30. The full itinerary will be listed on the tour page once it is made available to us. PLEASE don't e-mail us requesting specific tour information as we will make it available onsite just as soon as we get it.

Unfortunately, we have some bad news to report on the international front. It now appears that an invasion of Japan is not in the cards this go 'round.

Rhythm Guitar Player Added For Tour March 25, 1999 TracyTracy :: Via Management

The band has decided to bring a rhythm guitar player out for the tour...yes...he's a fantastic player...but no...he's not Robin [sic]. The album has a ton of guitar parts on it and Warren wants it completely duplicated...so Mr. DeMartini will share some stuff with "the rookie".

8191 Goes Gold March 23, 1999

RATT'S "Best Of" collection, "8191" went gold this month and continues to rack up sales at the rate of 1600 units per week. "8191" was released in 1991 on the Atlantic Records label [catalog number 82260-2]. The album also includes the never before released [by RATT] title "Nobody Rides For Free" from the motion picture soundtrack "Point Break".

RATT's catalog as a whole is showing a healthy 50% sales increase over the past two years with an average 3700 units being scanned per week.

New RATT CD Progresses March 20, 1999 Gary Levelius :: FIELD REPORTER

"Over The Edge" is now in the final mix with Mike Shipley at the controls and John Kalodner paying close attention. Other titles that will be featured on this first RATT studio effort since 1990's Detonator are: "Dead Reckoning", "All The Way", "Live For Today", "Luv Sick", "Breakout", "It Ain't Easy", and "We Don't Belong".

RATT Gives SONY A Preview March 15, 1999

RATT played most of the new album for SONY on March 3rd. The SONY execs were extremely pleased to say the least [they FREAKED!]. In particular, a new song called "Over The Edge" had them salivating!!! The place was rockin'!! The Rodents were a happy pack!!!!

With the record all but finished, SONY is frantically scrambling to put together an earlier release. The boys will join Poison in a co/head summer shed tour beginning on memorial day. The lineup will be Poison,... RATT,... Great White,... and an opener to be named soon. Cinderella was going to be part of the package, but has decided instead to get in the studio in order to get their album finished and released by the early fall.

Invasion Is Going International March 15, 1999

There are lots of plans in the works. After the summer tour, the Rodents will make their way to Japan, Australia, and MORE. And then, the fall is shaping up nicely with what appears to be a really HOT bill. More on this later.
