to the man who claimed that tool has more talent...you are wrong, for the most part. drummers are about even, bass player goes to tool, but both Jim and Mick would cut Tool's guitar player (something Jones? im drawing a blank) here's the deal with slipknot. They single handedly brought back metal, and gave a big middle finger to anyone that would listen. They are beginning to grow out of that F#ck the world attitude and starting to expand as musicians, and I think it was time for them to do that. Musically speaking, Vol. 3 is so much better than their first two that it's hard to compare them, but the brutality of the first two is nonexistent on Vol 3. It's a kinder, gentler slipknot, but much easier to take seriously. It's pretty obvious that bands like Lamb of God, Shadows Fall and Opeth are poised to take slipknots place at the top of metal, but if not for those nine crazy motherf#ckers who knows where metal would be right now...remember the mid 90's?

I've listen to Slipknot for some time now, Slipknot are nu metal they bring a whole different thing in heavy metal or heavy rock which ever you prefer. One of you ppl judge without even knowing a little bit about the band which probably mean you know nothing, you just listen to one of their song and think "these ppl dont know good metal" well there's more to these guys just listening to one of their song doesnt mean they stink. Meh, I used (USED) to be a die hard slipknot fan, until i listened to Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat. Then I started thinking wtf happened to them. MFKR is amazing, for once you can actually hear the guitars, unlike the static from the s/t album. MFKR was slipknot at its heaviest. What happened to the band? Corey Taylor happened. Now they're more like some sort of demented emo band. Anders Colsefni (the original slipknot singer), whose last name i might have mispelled, easily blows Corey away as far as screaming goes. So much for wanting a more radio friendly singer. For those who are curios www.mfkr1.com is the place to go for the original slipknot. R.I.P. slipknot...

slipknot now has changed there old masks into new masks. the masks dont look very different lead singer Corey Taylor says. They just got them before there new alblum. They do not know when the alblum is going to be out or what its going to be called, but they think it will be out during the end of march. The new alblum will be not as intense as they were, but they are not going to bein soft rock. they will still be metal but just not as intense.keep checking for more news.

I'm not going to say anything about those who feel the need to attack SlipKnoT, because at the end of the day anybody who get's so offended that other people enjoy a band they don't arent worth my time. I will say that SlipKnoT are a critical moment in metal everywhere, opening up the genre to a new generation and putting some spark back into a style that has been stuck forever in a trap involving lycra and hair spray. Good on 'em for doing what they wanna do and making it big. Maybe that's why people hate them so much, because they have been successful.

I think Slipknot r 1 of the best Heavy Metal bands in the world!They are really talented,Joey has to be the best drummer. Mick(guitar),Jim(guitar) and Paul(bass) are so talented at thier instruments it's untrue. Corey has one of the best vioces in rock ever! he can sing well and F**king shout his a$$ of as well! and Chris & Shawn are so strong to beat the s**t out of their drums at evry concert.
Both albums have been perfect , and their new DVD "Disasterpieces" is 10/10. It's so gd with all the different angles and thier mask cameras!
Also Corey and Jim's band Stone Sour kick-a$$, i'm seeing them in Feb 19th. And the Murderdolls (Joey's new band) kick-a$$ as well, and Joey can sure play the guitar! So to all the other maggots out there SLIPKNOT RULE!

Yeah, I haven't heard much from M.F.K.R. either. I think the only one I heard was Killers Are Quiet, which I mistaken for a demo version of the song Iowa. I heard that M.F.K.R. wasn't very good but I'd rather hear it for myself and gather my own opinion. I really have to agree with AntiPrep about Iowa being the best(even though I've already said that!). Iowa was just more...ME! I read in one of my magizines that Slipknot's next album is going to be, quote:"the ultimate statement from Slipknot", so I don't know what to expect but I have high hopes.

My friend said that he liked the first one better but they are about the same to me. Have you heard the song "Prayer" off the new cd yet? If you like it then you will probaly like the whole cd. Well, Skinny wanted, originally, to be like all other drummers that start out...the fastest there is. But it doesn't work out that way. They work together to give them the sound that they have. They work around the keyboards that Schmotz plays. Unusual, concidering most bands work around the guitars. Anyway, my opinion is that they let him loose on that track. Remember that Mushroomhead is a theatrical band and it's probably a "let loose" sorta song. I CAN tell that Chancer Sore is a love song (rumor is Xeroxed is supposedly about Slipknot, read the lyrics and you'll see why but, personally I think it was just a song that was easy to accuse to fuel contraversy, fans can suck). That's my educated guess on 43, I could be wrong.

The video director, I forget the bastards name, also directed a Marylin M. video and the "Whole" video from FLAW, another favorite. They've got an awesome show and the feeling just pulses through you. The video did a great job on grabing the feel that Mushroomhead have. You can't die until you've seen a Mushroomhead show. They use to have a bondage act! And their shows tend to turn into hardcore mini raves. The music itself is enough to make you go insane but the show just magnifies the feeling times ten, no 200+. They just kick ass.

Okay the list: Rasputina, Downer, 40 Below Summer, Project Pitchfork, Ours, My Dying Bride, Vision of Disorder, Vader, Testament, Splender, Sparta, Soilent Green, Sentenced, and SKAA. There's more but, I misplaced the other sheet I made. I go to music stores with pen and notepad or whatever and write down the names of interesting looking bands. Later when I get the time I look them up on the net and take a listen to their stuff. Works pretty good. The only down-side is that sometimes I want damn near all of them and can't afford them, at least not in quantity.

I don't want to get into a pissing match but, I would like to know where you got your info on Mushroomhead and their comments. You might have read a phony review. There's a lotta of those out their. Usually it's a article with Skinny (their drummer and founder) dissing Slipknot, and it's usually because people want to start a fued between the two bands. Very low. Kinda reminds me of two certain boy bands I know of (and despise). I've read many interviews by them and they've had nothing but friendly things to say about their fellow mask wearing rockers. Perhaps you should read a interview that Guitar World did recently and get an idea of what they really say. If you don't like their music that's okay but, I really, really, think you've been missinformed about them. They've had members come and go throughout the years. Skinny quoted that he'd rather take their (Slipknot) audience rather than fight them. As I said, and MRH said, Slipknot has paved the road for them, ironically even though they've been around less. I'm sorry, I just can't believe that what you've heard is true. I really think you've heard bull from some editor that wanted to start some media publicity crap. They can't be jealous, they're doing great! I hope they continue to do well (I know they will), and I hope in the near future that Mushroomhead and Slipknot (and Mudvayne) do a project togther. Well well well. I see my review has stirred a bit of anger. First I do not trully enjoy Kisse's music. Second, you must have not heard the interviews where members of Slipknot say (Slipknot, what a name!!) The masks mean nothing. Other times they will say, the masks are everything. I f they wished to be judged by only their music, then why not where paper bags instead of dreadlocked mummies, and brain scratchers. Once again the screaming is worthless. And by the way, calling me "names is a sure sign of your immature mind. Check out the review a wrote on mudvayne. More drummers nowhere gives more energy. They ae terrible and you know it.

i saw slipknot in concert a few dayz ago at the OZZFEST they put on a great show 2 my suprise. They played a lot of new songs mixed in with sum of their clasics. It had me and my friends totally stunned when they were done. All in all SLIPKNOT is one band who knows how 2 put on a hell of a show.
