Search For Ra Energy, Big Red
formed in 1997, rising from the ashes of
Mudslide, a local Winnipeg band. Big
Red is an in-your-face, straight ahead
rock n roll band with all of the
high-energy sounds and stage show of
historys most influential rock bands.
The songs are catchy, listenable and
diverse with a vintage flare that keeps
them from becoming disposable. Big
Reds musicianship is already at a level
that will allow them to continue to
concentrate on songwriting, which is
really the most important factor in
unforgettable music.
Big Red is:
Kris Solomon Vocals
Kris is a very soulful singer with a
diverse background who has been
compared to Robert Plant, Chris
Robinson and Chris Cornell.
Curtis Taves Guitar
Curtis is unlike many guitarists because
his playing strays away from the usual
schooling that most guitarists adopt. His
playing is always in the best interests of
the song, rather than personal glory.
Definitely a heartfelt player.
Rob McLaren Drums
Rob is a very heavy, solid drummer who
is quite entertaining to watch due to his
unorthodox playing style. He plays with
a whole lot of feeling and can be seen
smiling and sweating behind his old
Rogers kit.
Rick Guspodarchuk Bass
Ricks inventive bass playing is heavily
influenced by jazz combined with funk
and hard rock to combine with Rob to
form a very solid backbone for Big Red.
