DRIVIN' RAIN Biography

DRIVIN' RAIN was formed in the summer of 1994 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Since that time they have become one of the midwest's favorite bands. Doing extensive touring throughout, Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky, and other midwestern states. They have built a large and loyal following of friends along the way! Even receiving attention from overseas. One of the reasons DRIVIN' RAIN shows are so wild is they give the crowd what they want, "A SHOW!" It's 100% real ROCK N ROLL! The band's live performance is very visual. It's fun and it's in your face. From the first note to the last crash the boys will have the crowd up and jamming! Their stage repertoire appeals to a wide variety of audiences. It's a mixture of DRIVIN' RAIN's own music as well as covers of real rock classics from 1970 - 2001. Their original songs "Hellwater", "Last Days", "Tear Drop in the Rain", "Toys For The Witches", "2Y2K (To Young Too Kill)", and others will be released soon on their debut CD "2Y2K". DRIVIN' RAIN is fronted by TIMEXX NASTY RAINWALKER. Born in 1971 to a Cherokee/Irish family in Cape Girardeau. He was raised in Missouri, but spawned from the hills of Arkansas. He has been singing with bands since age 14. Timexx recorded his first album with Stage Crew in 1987. And a second album as the lead screamer for Beggar's Jury in 1991. His amazing vocal range has earned him a lot of attention over the years. "Imagine a gravely voiced Mariah Carey hitting the Metal scene and you'll begin to understand what the vocals sound like..." (Nightlife 4/6/95) Nasty's live performance is over the top and very visual. "Nasty's dominating figure demands attention for the band" (Daily Egyptian 2/27/96) Other papers have gone on to call Timexx "A singing Jeckyl and Hyde, that reflects a little of our good nature, and a touch of our Naughty sides." (Nightlights 10/97) Timexx is the bands only constant member since it was formed in 1994. BRAD "Bradman" DUTTON is the Raingangs drummer. He is a founding member of DRIVIN' RAIN. Brad is one of the most visual and talented drummers in the midwest. His drum style has been compared to that of legendary skin bashers Tommy Aldridge, Scott Rockenfield, and Tommy Lee. "Dutton is the most powerful drummer around, utilizing over-the-top-fills which should destroy most kits." (Nightlife 4/6/95) Brad is a former member of the bands Broadway and Frozen Rose. He reached #1 overseas when his former band Frozen Rose released a self titled CD in 1991. But after that band fell apart, he helped to start the band DRIVIN' RAIN in 1994. Dutton is a key part of the groups success. Brad is the drive behind the rain! The Bradman is the only DRIVIN' RAIN member not from Missouri. He lives in Cave-In-Rock Illinois, a town famous for it's pirates and outlaws. However, Dutton may be Cave-In-Rock's finest treasure and newest legend. The lightning is the job of guitarist TOMMY "COA" DeWOLF. He began playing music at age 17. Originally a drummer, he switched briefly to keyboards, when he found his hunger lie with the six string demon. Tommy is quite a find using guitar attacks that would level any stage. He has recorded two albums, one in 1989 with the band Tezer, and a regional radio hit with Thunder Bay in 1996. COA is also a founding member of DRIVIN' RAIN. Tommy is a die hard musician and a amazing song writer. He handles not only the guitar parts but covers the back-up and harmony vocals as well. Tommy is a childhood friend of DRIVIN' RAIN vocalist Timexx, and Tommy's stage antics blend perfectly with Nasty's over the top persona. N amed "COA" (Center Of Attention) by his band mates, he always makes his presence known, and always leaves a lasting impression. Tommy says his biggest influences are Jack Daniel's and The Simpsons (The cartoon not O.J.) Born Italian/Choctaw he is the trickster of the band. And DeWolf is as wild off stage as he is on stage. The Raingangs newest member is Cape Girardeau Native GREG WOLF. Greg is the gang's bassist. Originally a guitarist, he switched to Bass when the position was open in DRIVIN' RAIN. He dove into the rain and and found his own ground to hold. Wolf's bass rumble provides the thunder for the band. And his punk rock, devil-may-care, Generation X attitude is what made him a destined member of the gang. Greg is playing for keeps and leaving no challenge unmet. His loyalties are with this band and his future is along side it. Joining the band in 2000, DRIVIN' RAIN is his first (and hopefully only) band. The new age is here, and the DRIVIN' RAIN is ready to take it on. The band is currently working on their debut C.D. "2Y2K." They hope to have it in stores this year. And the band says that the new music will go off like a hand grenade in a shopping mall. The rest of this year will see the Raingang in the studio, on the road, headlining their own show, and opening for some of their national friends across the country. The boys are here to show that the Midwest still has something to say. And to prove that no force made by man can stop the DRIVIN' RAIN!!
