Jena Malone Stars in New Harper Simon Video
Jena Malone (Into the Wild, Pride & Prejudice, Donny Darko) stars in "Berkeley Girl," the new video from Harper Simon.

The clip was directed by Benjamin Kutsko from LA-based film collective/production company The Masses (Devendra Banhart, Passion Pit, Beach House, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros) and features a cameo by singer/songwriter Henry Wolfe.

Shot on 8 mm film in the hills of Echo Park, LA's new bohemian hub, and drenched in golden light, the video recalls the romantic quality of the great films of the 1970s – a perfect fit for Harper's classic sounding folk-rock love song written to a friend. Says Kutsko, "I was really excited to explore Echo Park as a character in this video, as well as the delicate balance that exists between two people whose relationship has moved from lovers to friends. Those are both 'places' where I have found some of my closest loves in this life! Shooting on film was important to me; the second the song begins, it is clear that Harper's voice doesn't live in a digital world." - watch the video here

The Hours Announce Digital Release
(ILG) On October 5 Adeline Records will release The Hours' first full-length US album, It's Not How You Start, It's How You Finish, to all digital outlets, with a deluxe edition exclusive to iTunes.

The album sees The Hours put their own twist on Brit-pop with songs fueled by soaring choruses and powerful ballads. Produced and mixed by the band and renowned producer Flood (U2, Depeche Mode), the album features the band's iconic "Ali In The Jungle" – heard in Nike's 2010 Winter Olympic TV / web campaign "The Human Chain" and two new songs, "1000 Years" and "Born To Be".

The Hours, one of the most dynamic and provocative rock ensembles on the London music scene today, got their start when singer-songwriter-guitarist Antony Genn (whose BritPop credentials include stints with Pulp and Elastica), and multi-instrumentalist Martin Slattery (whose resume includes playing with Shaun Ryder's Black Grape) formed The Mescaleros with then-former Clash-frontman Joe Strummer in 1999. The Mescaleros performed their first gig in Genn's hometown of Sheffield in June 1999 and Antony (who'd been all of 8 when London Calling first hit the record store racks) co-wrote and co-produced Rock Art and the X Ray Style, the highly-acclaimed album that marked Strummer's long-awaited return to music. - more on this story

Broadway's Lauren Pritchard Sets Debut Album Release
Lauren Pritchard is going from Broadway to the record store. Universal Republic will release her debut album, Wasted in Jackson, on October 26th.

Pritchard, who starred in the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening, recorded the album with producer/Ivor Novello-winning songwriter Eg White (Duffy, Adele) in London, where early reviews have been phenomenal.
