The Day in Pop Digest for 1/26/11: (Billboard) Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the pop superstar's death as the case moved rapidly toward trial. more

(Jam!) New Kids on the Block star Jonathan Knight has been inadvertently 'outed' as gay by 1980s pop star Tiffany. In a TV interview, she blurted out the news that Knight was gay; confessing she briefly dated the singer and may have been the one responsible for "turning him". more

(Jam!) Robbie Williams is set to follow in the footsteps of Abba, Queen and the Spice Girls - he's reportedly agreed for his hits to be transformed into a West End musical. more

Ke$ha Officially A Sell Out
Ke$ha's first North American headlining tour, the "Get $leazy" tour, has completely sold out.

The "Get $leazy" tour kicks off in Portland on February 15th and wraps in Los Angeles on May 6th.

She is touring in support of the release of Cannibal (RCA Records / Kemosabe Entertainment), the companion to her debut album Animal which was released on November 22nd. more on this story

Bruno Mars Rules Across The Pond
Bruno Mars' debut album 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans' has gone straight to the No. 1 spot in the UK, selling over 86,000 copies in its first week and for a second week running 'Grenade' remains at the top of the single charts with sales now totalling over 109,000 (27,000 ahead of Adele).

Bruno is also topping the iTunes charts with both album and single and he is No. 1 in the Official Airplay Chart.

His recently announced Doo-Wops and Hooligans Tour which includes two consecutive nights at Koko has completely sold out, with both London shows selling over 3000 tickets in less than an hour.

G. Love Announces Tour and Webcast
G. Love has announced the second leg of his U.S. tour in support of his new country blues and roots album, Fixin' To Die, set for release on Brushfire Records on February 22, 2011.

Recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC, and produced by Scott and Seth Avett, the album is arguably G. Love's most sincere and candid work to date.

G. Love will preview songs from Fixin' To Die with a live Creative Allies concert webcast on February 2nd at 5pm PST. The intimate solo performance will be broadcast from the campus of Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA. more on this story

Elton John Fuels Gnomeo & Juliet Soundtrack
Buena Vista Records will release the soundtrack for "Gnomeo & Juliet" on February 8, 2011.

Newport Jazz and Folks Festival Go Non-Profit
(PR) The Newport Jazz Festival and Newport Folk Festival have returned to their original roots as non-profit events.

The Festivals will now be produced under the umbrella of Newport Festivals Foundation, Inc., a newly-formed 501(c)(3) organization. They will still be produced by George Wein and his veteran staff.

Under Newport Festivals Foundation, each festival will continue the tradition of featuring established and emerging performers. The Jazz Festival will present musicians who follow the traditions of New Orleans, swing, bebop and modal as the heart of jazz music.
