Lady Gaga Strips Naked In New Video
(Radio.com) Lady Gaga is now present thanks to New York performance artist Marina Abramovic. In keeping with the first syllable of Gaga's new album ARTPOP, the singer stopped by the Marina Abramovic Institute to practice the Abramovic Method, described as "a series of exercises and environments designed to increase awareness of their physical and mental experience in the moment."

Her experience was partly captured on film and released in conjunction with Abramovic's Kickstarter campaign for the institute. Watch Gaga center herself, don horned masks, strip naked, and hug a block of ice in the NSFW video. Business as usual for Gaga.

While the video is only a short few minutes, Ms. Stephanie Germanotta was no stranger to Marina Abramović's longform aesthetic, as they both previously took part in a marathon reading of the sci-fi novel Solaris, also apparently unclothed. Watch the video here.

Katy Perry and Frank Ocean Guest on John Mayer's New Album
(Radio.com) It's no secret that Katy Perry has been a muse to John Mayer. During his tour opener in June, he dedicated the last song of his set, "A Face To Call Home" off 2012′s Born and Raised, to the singer.

Describing her as his "face to call home," he added that "she was so patient" and she took the time "to continue to get to know me and love me" despite his vocal impairment.

It seems Perry is returning the favor by adding her vocals to Mayer's new album Paradise Valley, out Aug. 20. According to Rolling Stone, Perry will be featured on "a country-tinged mid-tempo track titled 'Who You Love.'"

.Frank Ocean will lend his voice on "Wildfire." That's also a returned favor of sorts, seeing as Mayer played guitar on Ocean's Channel Orange track "White."

Last month, Mayer released the lyric video for "Wildfire," sans Ocean, which showcases his familiar vocals alongside hand-clapped rhythms and electric guitar. more on this story

Drake Reacts To Amanda Bynes' Strange Tweets
(Radio.com) Drake graces the cover of XXL's 16th anniversary issue this month and is talking new music, his image and competing with Kanye West. But he's also addressing the weird behavior Amanda Bynes has been exhibiting.

Back in March, Bynes tweeted that she wanted Drake to "murder her vagina." By the next month though, she had changed her mind tweeting that Drake was "ugly." Not the first time she's done such a thing. She later deleted the tweet and countered it with a one calling him "gorgeous."

When asked about Bynes' bi-polar Twitter mood swings, Drake showed a bit of concern for the actress. "I don't even know who that is doing that or what that's about. If that is her, I guess it's a little weird and disturbing," he said. "It's obviously a behavioral pattern that is way bigger than me. Whoever is behind it, whether it's her or somebody else, they know people are paying attention so they keep it going."

The rapper wasn't interested in just addressing gossip though, he wanted to talk music. He has already shared more than six songs that may or may not be on his upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same, out September 17, including the very smooth, "Hold On We're Going Home," and in the magazine, Drake discusses the pressures of following up his 2011 GRAMMY award-winning album, Take Care.

Drake compares himself to "the kid waving in the background in the photo with all of his tall relatives," when it comes to putting out his album in a year where Kanye and Jay Z both dropped new records. more.

'Cowboy' Jack Clement Dead at 82
(Radio.com) Yesterday, the music world lost one of its finest participants. "Cowboy" Jack Clement died Thursday morning in Nashville, after a battle with liver cancer. He was 82.

Clement's name may not be quite of the household variety, but this fun-loving, free-spirited musical genius was a hugely influential force across country, folk and rock for more than half a century.

Elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame earlier this year (but not yet officially 'inducted'–that will happen later this year), Clement was nominated in the "non-performer" category–even though he has at various times in his career been a performer, including releasing a pair of solo albums. He is, though, best known as a studio engineer (at Sun Records in the 1950s), producer (for Waylon Jennings, Charley Pride, Don Williams), and songwriter. His best-known songs include "Ballad of a Teenage Queen" and "Guess Things Happen That Way," both early hits for Johnny Cash; "Just Someone I Used to Know" for Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner; "Gone Girl" for the Glaser Brothers; and "Just Between You and Me" for Pride.

A native of Memphis, Clement got his early start at that city's famous label Sun Records alongside Sam Phillips. There he worked with and helped shape the sound and songs of such legends as Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. He later settled in Nashville and worked with Chet Atkins at RCA. He convinced Chet to sign Charley Pride, and went on to produce or coproduce Pride's first 13 RCA albums.

Clement also produced the very first album by legendary Texas singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt, as well as the concept album A Bird Named Yesterday for fellow Country Music Hall of Fame 2013 inductee Bobby Bare.

He also produced Waylon's 1975 masterpiece Dreaming My Dreams, considered by many to be the 'outlaw' singer's best. more on this story

Beyonce Shocks Fans With New Pixie Look
(Radio.com) The Internet is abuzz with the sound of scissors clacking after Beyonce posted new photos to her Instagram account of herself showing off a blonde pixie cut.

The new look was posted with no comment from the singer, but is the first look fans get of her without a weave ever. She did don a similar blonde wig to play Etta James in Cadillac Records, but this time she appears to have gone full into the look.

Her newly short hair follows an on-stage incident on the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in Montreal where her hair extensions got caught in a fan. Check out the photos here.

The Avett Brothers Debut New Song
(Radio.com) The Avett Brothers didn't leave fans waiting too long for new music. Less than a year after the release of their 7th album, The Carpenter, the band already has a new song.

The track, "Another Is Waiting," which can be heard exclusively on NPR, picks up where their last record left off: plenty of banjo strumming and sweet words about learning to love.

Back in June after headlining Governors Ball, the band revealed exclusively to Radio.com that their new album, Magpie and the Dandelion (out October 15), was originally intended to be the second installment of The Carpenter.

"We initially thought of this as part two…but we realize it's its own thing," Scott Avett said. "It's a very interesting occurrence we didn't intend. It's a nice surprise."

The record, produced by Rick Rubin, who worked on their last two albums, won't only include songs from The Carpenter sessions, but songs that have been kicking around for a while now. more on this story

Will Andre 3000 Return Next Year?
(Radio.com) In this week's episode of REWIND, we discuss the likelihood of an OutKast album dropping in the immediate future, and dive further into the Lil Wayne vs. Riley Cooper controversy.

Fans of OutKast may have to wait a little bit longer for that album they've been hoping for, since 2006′s Idlewild to be exact. But, there is some good news. There will be a solo Andre 3000 album on the way, in addition to his leading role in the Jimi Hendrix biopic.

While a rep for Andre's label told Billboard there is no official word on the release, Stephen Hill, president of BET music programming, had the news dropped into his lap by the man himself.

After running into Andre 3000 backstage at a concert, Hill tweeted their conversation: "Me: hey what's up? You got the movie coming, right? Andre 3000: yeah…and I got a solo album coming top of the year. Me:*droptofloor*"

In less positive hip-hop news, Lil Wayne is in the midst of a feud with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper. After Cooper was caught on video dropping the N-bomb, he was rebuked by celebrities, pundits and sports commentators alike. Even Lil Wayne offered harsh words on Twitter: "Riley Cooper kan suk my …." More including the video stream.

Hanni El Khatib Takes Two Paths With 'House of Fire'
(Radio.com) At first listen, "House Of Fire" off Hanni El Khatib's album, Head In The Dirt, sounds as if it's two songs molded into one. And he says he intended it to be that way.

"It's nice to hear a song that starts off really vulnerable and isolated," El Khatib told Radio.com. "You almost feel like you're in the room with the singer or songwriter or the instrument. Then it explodes into this big thing. It felt like that was the best way to bookend the record."

El Khatib said the final track on the album was originally going to be twice the speed but as he was playing the song slowly, trying to remember the lyrics, the album's producer, Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys, who El Khatib met by chance at a bar in Paris, urged him to slow the track down.

"I'm really awful with memorizing my own lyrics. I was singing it to myself and Dan was in the room. Dan was like, 'You should just play it like that. We can get into the fast part later.'" I remember being opposed to it, but I was like, 'Why not try it?'" he said.

Much like this song, El Khatib considers his career in music a fortunate accident. He never had the intention of being a singer. In fact, music became a pastime while working at HUF where he was a creative director for streetwear and skateboards.

"I didn't think too hard of it," he said of becoming a musician. "I always had friends that were in bands and in the industry and often times flailing and trying to figure out what to do. I had a cool job designing skateboards and t-shirts so I was not really concerned with trying to get out of my sh** job because I had a fun job."

Instead, music was simply what he did on the side. "No one knew I made music. I wasn't telling people I was in a band," he explained. "I was just doing it to help me from going crazy at work, just something else to do. Some people paint, some people read." more on this story
