Perez Hilton Concerned With Safety Over Lady Gaga Beef
(Radio.com) Over the weekend, a series of heated tweets back and forth between celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton and Lady Gaga made headlines. Yesterday, while on air with Carson Daly on AMP Radio (a Radio.com station), Hilton addressed what he called "the big elephant in the room."

"There is a lot of stuff going on Twitter with myself and Lady Gaga and I'm very sad about it," he confessed. "She was making false accusations about me, very publicly for a variety of reasons. It's just sad because I know there's a lot going on with her right now and I genuinely hope that she gets better and that things go well with her in the future. I wish her nothing but health."

Hilton went on to admit that he thought they were real friends. "In real life friends and not showbiz friends." He further explained this on his website, in a post titled A Statement On Lady GaGa's Lies.

This past weekend Hilton claims he was looking for a New York City apartment to move from the West Coast to raise his family. It just so happened that he was taken to a viewing of the same apartment that Gaga lives in and this is what started the Twitter beef when things "got crazy and out of control," according to Hilton with Gaga calling him a stalker.

She tweeted, "Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident" and "Please monsters do not be affected by someone like this NOTHING merits this kind of hatred. Im ok & I always survive. Ignore him. Just Dance."

"I probably would not have even looked at an apartment if I knew she lived there going into it to be honest. That's the worst part. She knew the response. She's not a stupid girl. She knew the response she would elicit by doing that," he said of her taking matters to Twitter.

Hilton said he's not playing the victim card and doesn't want sympathy. Instead, he's concerned for his family's safety.

"I actually reached out to security people," he admitted.

Gaga has since responded on her Born This Way Foundation Tumblr blog. Read that here.

Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber Song Leaks
(Radio.com) A newly leaked song by Michael Jackson called "Slave 2 The Rhythm," featuring Justin Bieber is definitely the real thing, according to Billboard.

After the song hit the web, Jackson's label Sony entered a copyright claim, which not only led many of the YouTube and Soundcloud links to be taken down, but confirmed that the song is in fact real. (Update: The song has been removed from all corners of the web.)

The song was reportedly written years before Jackson's death in 2009. A version produced by Tricky Stewart surfaced last year, but did not feature Bieber's vocals.

This new version of the track has Bieber and Jackson trading verses about a girl who dances to a beat all her own, all with a little but of dubstep wub thrown in for good measure.

Over the weekend, Bieber seemed to tease the song, tweeting that he was "excited for what is to come" and wished Michael was here. more.

Pete Townshend Not Suing One Direction For Song Theft
(Gibson) One Direction fans, relax. Pete Townshend has issued a statement denying rumors The Who were contemplating action over the fact that the boy band's new single, "Best Song Ever," sounds like The Who's "Baba O'Riley."

Responding to the Twitter storm that erupted last week, Townshend says: "No! I like the single. I like One Direction. The chords I used and the chords they used are the same three chords we've all been using in basic pop music since Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Chuck Berry made it clear that fancy chords don't mean great music–not always. I'm still writing songs that sound like 'Baba O'Riley'–or I'm trying to!"

He added: "It's a part of my life and a part of pop's lineage. One Direction are in my business, with a million fans, and I'm happy to think they may have been influenced a little bit by The Who. I'm just relieved they're all not wearing boiler suits and Doc Martens, or Union Jack jackets.

"The funniest thing is that in Canada this year I met with Randy Bachman, once the leader of The Guess Who, who told me that he not only copied 'Baba O'Riley' for [Bachman-Turner Overdrive's] hit 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet', but he even called his band after us. Why would I not be happy about this kind of tribute?" more on this story

Lady Gaga Releases Applause Video
(Radio.com) Lady Gaga may have had to release her new song "Applause" a little earlier than expected, but the officially video dropped right on time. Gaga's new video, which premiered Monday morning (August 19) in Times Square and dropped only four days after her drag queen-approved lyric video, shows Mother Monster on stage trying to earn the A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E she craves.

The mostly black and white clip directed by Inez & Vinoodh, who both photographed Gaga for the single's cover art, features the ARTPOP singer in array of costumes from the mermaid wearing only sea shells, the magician's manic assistant, the fallen dark angel, and the black swan. All of which obviously live for the applause.

Gaga is set to perform "Applause" for the first time at this Sunday's (August 25) MTV VMAs. The show will also feature performances from Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Kanye West and Miley Cyrus. Check out the video here.

The Weeknd Releases New Song Featuring Drake
(Radio.com) The Weeknd (AKA Abel Tesfaye) has released new song "Live For" featuring fellow Toronto native Drake. It's the latest single from the Weeknd's forthcoming album, Kiss Land, which is scheduled to drop on September 10.

The customarily moody and atmospheric tune finds Tesfaye delivering his lyrics over acoustic guitars and orchestral swells, with Drake picking up the hook "This is the sh** that I live for" as the launching pad for his verse, which kicks in around the song's halfway point.

The pair have previously collaborated on songs like "The Zone," from the Weeknd's second mixtape, Thursday, as well as a handful of tracks on Drake's sophomore album, 2001 release Take Care, including "Crew Love" and "Practice."

The Weeknd has a long history with Drake, going back to 2011 when his second-ever live show was part of the rapper's annual OVO Festival. Rumors of a brewing feud between the two seems to have been long squashed. Check out the song and read more here.

Neko Case's Forthcoming Coming Album Streaming In Full

"I'm From Nowhere" is a stripped down track that showcases her powerful vocals, while lead single "Man" provides killer guitar riffs as Case aggressively sings, "I am a man, you'll have to deal with me." Darker tracks like "Bracing For Sunday" further demonstrate Case's versatility.

Fans seem to be resonating with the LP. Case took to Twitter shortly after the stream debuted to express her gratitude for the review reviews. " Damn. I'm seriously tearing up a bit. You guys are REALLY nice. I may have to cover my hot cheeks under a pillow or two.." she tweeted. more on this story

While the original, chart-topping "Royals" was hazy, The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) smooths out the track with tender production and coos in the background.

Sheryl Crow Remembers Her First Time
(Radio.com) Back in 1993, a woman who'd been Michael Jackson's back-up singer finally released her first album. But Sheryl Crow's Tuesday Night Music Club, named for the gathering of Los Angeles musicians with whom she wrote seven tracks on the album, wouldn't see a successful U.S. single until 1994 when "Leaving Las Vegas" started garnering radio and video spins. The song would become her breakout hit, followed by more successful singles "All I Wanna Do" and "Strong Enough."

When Crow finally heard herself on the radio for the first time, she was in a very successful place. Literally. "The first time I heard myself on the radio, I was in a rented car because my car had broken down," Crow told Radio.com. "I had an old Corvair and it wasn't working. I rented a little convertible Volkswagen for the week while it got worked on. I was driving through Beverly Hills of all places and 'Leaving Las Vegas' came on the radio. It was just such a California experience: beautiful weather, top down [and] my song came on the radio."

Crow had relocated to Los Angeles from Missouri, where she was a teacher, to pursue her dream of becoming a singer and songwriter. And that particular California moment was experienced by Crow like many of the city's commuters: alone in her own car.

"I'm just looking at the cars around me going, 'That's me!'" Crow recounted. "It was such a surreal experience and I remember it so well. Obviously nobody knew who I was but… I am a small town girl from Missouri and to be in the height of glamour and money, right there in Beverly Hills and to have your song come on the radio, I felt like, 'Yes I've made it! I've made it! Where is everybody? It's playing!' It was a really, really fun moment." more on this story
