Mindy McCready Tribute Event Coming And Final Song Goes Online
Mindy McCready's publicist said that there are preliminary plans being made for a tribute in Nashville to the late singer who committed suicide this weekend and a song has gone online which was reportedly her final recording.

Music City News Media & Marketing announced on Monday, "to complement formal family arrangements, preliminary plans are being made by Mindy's 'friends in music' to organize a memorial in Nashville in the coming days." Details are to be announced.

E! reports that prior to her death, McCready asked private investigator Danno Hanks to put together a video for her.

The video features a cover of Courtney Dashe's "I'll See You Yesterday," a song which Hanks says helped McCready following the apparent suicide of David Wilson.

"She said she wanted to put together this video to help people deal when someone had suffered a suicide in their life and God, she was literally having me write her suicide note. If I had known, I would have made sure someone was there with her all the time."

The day prior to her suspected suicide, McCready sent Hanks a frame for the video he was putting together with contact information for a suicide hotline. "I thought she was talking about sending a message about suicide for David's death but this is unbelievable. She was sending me a message. I wish I had been more alert to what it was," Hanks said. The video also serves a promotional clip for Jaguar's F-Type series of sports car, with the British automotive manufacturer announcing the collaboration with Del Rey last year.

"The allure of Jaguar is in large part due to its duality – a unique blend of authenticity and modernity; two values that we believe are shared with Lana in her professional achievements," stated a company press release regarding the project.

The video portrays the pop singer onstage in an opulent concert hall, wearing an elegant white dress while singing in front of red velvet curtains. The sultry performance shots are interspersed with images of a red F-Type convertible cruising around hairpin curves on a two-lane highway and other found footage, like a woman walking down a city street with a tiger on leash. Singled Out: Tarmac Adam (Crowded House)
Today Tarmac Adam lead vocalist / guitarist Matt O'Donnell tells us about the song "Chalk On Slate" from their brand new album "The History Effect," which was released today. The band also features Crowded House star Nick Seymour. Here is the story:

"Chalk On Slate" is a journey song, replete with metaphors about choices, opportunities and forks in the road. The title alludes to the "old-fashioned" method of writing on a blackboard. The idea of keeping a record by writing down your life story as you go appealed to me. The circus mentioned in verse one offers us the opportunity to escape, to experience the freedom of a transient lifestyle. It's counterbalanced by the image of the trapeze with its inherent risk and danger. The illusion of being in control is also touched upon - someone or something else driving the car, holding the wheel as you venture forward.

A lot of the imagery in the lyric is driven by its rhymes, giving the song a sense of momentum. I like the abstract imagery they create, allowing much of the meaning to be left to the imagination of the listener.

"Chalk On Slate" had been around for a while in various versions before it was re-invented for the new Tarmac Adam record, The History Effect. Its sense of buoyancy sat well with the energy of the other tracks, and it seemed to fit perfectly with the overall themes of the album. It's like an introduction; the beginning of the album journey. The car is packed, seat belt is on; turn the ignition, engine ticks over; a tank of gasoline, and off we go.

The sounds you hear in the song include a chordmaster keyboard - an old electric accordion-like instrument. This is paired with a ukulele to set up the song in the intro. An electric rhythm guitar kicks in at the first chorus and drives the song to the end, referencing Blur's Coffee and TV guitar style.

The song layers instrumental and vocal parts over each other. Backing vocals pay homage to The Beach Boys with their "ba-bas". The drum rhythm is insistent, and Nick Seymour's walking bass line drives the song towards the horizon.

"Chalk On Slate" has a whimsical lyric vibe matched with a toe-tapping groove that's unashamedly indie pop.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

Kelly Rowland Discusses Her Forthcoming Album
(Radio.com) Kelly Rowland is fulfilling her own destiny, these days. After the reunion with Destiny's Child and announcing the GRAMMY award for best new artist, she offered some revealing news about her forthcoming album, which she promises will inspire a new conversation.

Her latest single, "Kisses," details a women in control. "I like my kisses down low, makes me arch my back," she sings, "When you give it to me slow, baby just like that."

"I think it's important for a lady to express that that's the way it should be handled some times," she told Big Tigger of V-103/Atlanta.

The album's sensual feel caused her to re-think the title.

"I condensed it down to about 14 songs for this album," she said. "It encouraged me to change the title. I was a lot more revealing, a lot more intimate. It's called Talk A Good Game, now." more on this story

Adele Addresses Chris Brown Reports
(Radio.com) For all those who were hoping Adele gave Chris Brown a tongue-lashing at the Grammy Awards, you'll have to keep dreaming.

Reports started swirling that Adele scolded Brown for not standing up when singer Frank Ocean beat him out for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Brown's decision to stay seated may have had something to do with the fact that earlier this month Ocean pressed charges against Brown for hitting him during an altercation over a parking spot. The charges have since been dropped.

The 21 singer set the record straight about her alleged conflict with Brown on Twitter. She wrote, "Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually!" See the photo and another which told a different story than the tabloid reports.

Rev Run Explains How Beyonce Captured Jay-Z
(Radio.com) Rev Run has some words of wisdom for wannabe Beyonces in search of their Jay-Zs in shining armor. The co-author of Manology: Secrets Of Your Man's Mind Revealed, offers what he believes is the secret of King Bey's relationship succes.

"How does a woman maintain her power and capture Mr. 'Big Pimpin'," he asked, in an interview with Radio.com. "Beyoncé did it flawlessly."

Beyoncé and Jay-Z were married in 2008 in a private affair. The power couple, who topped Forbes' "Highest Paid Celebrity Couples" list in 2012, originally kept their relationship under wraps and away from the public eye.

The perennial bachelor image Jay-Z portrayed during his "Big Pimpin'" days was among the factors that piqued the public's interest in the couple. On the single, "Big Pimpin'," which was released in 2000, he rhymed about his longstanding love affair with his money, which no woman could come between.

To melt Jay's icy veneer, Run pointed to Beyoncé's inner fire. He explained how she was happy to see Jay-Z but always went "back to work" on herself.

"[Beyoncé] danced, sang, spoke–perfect steps, that's what Ruth did in the Bible," Rev Run continued, referencing a story from the Old Testament's Book of Ruth. more on this story

Sigur Ros Release Scented Candles
(Radio.com) From frontman Jonsi's unique delivery and admittedly gibberish lyrics (band calls the language "Vonlenska") to their inventive use of sounds and instruments to craft their music, Iceland's Sigur Ros has never been the conventional alternative band.

The band recently took that a step in the non-conventional direction when they announced their own officially scented candles.

Available at the band's web store, the Vardeldur candle is described as smelling "of Sigur Rós's studio, while they go about the quasi-mystical business of making the magic happen." more on this story
