9 Years of antiMusic: Exploding Stereos & Burning Cats
Day in Rock reports: It was nine years ago this month that our sister site Rocknworld.com was launched. So to celebrate 9 years of antiMusic we'll be looking back at some of our most popular articles since the beginning. Today we look at one of the strangest reviews to ever grace the pages of antiMusic: Scott Slapp's Artist of the Month feature for Loudermilk from November of 2002. Here is a snippet:

Loudermilk destroyed my life plain and simple. This album made me doubt wanting to write for antiMUSIC because it’s proven to be so dangerous. Let me explain a bit so you know what the hell I’m talking about and you don’t think I’ve been smoking banana peals again (they give you a great buzz, don’t let anyone tell you different!) …. just as the song kicked in, my cat Ozzy strolled into the room to check out the kick ass tunes (Ozzy’s usually into death metal, but he was diggin Loundermilk purring his little head off, looking out the window for the neighbor's tomcat to rock out with.) Then as the first chorus was ending and Loudermilk’s singer Davey Ingersoll was belting out “… Aches In The Teeth Again” that was when the stereo exploded and one of the flames that shot out from the speakers caught Ozzy in the tail and the little dude took off like a rocket. I tried chasing him down to put out the flames but the little dude could move like Jesse Owens and as he raced from room to room he caught everything in his wake on fire from curtains to the Exodus T-shirt I had thrown on the floor. Before I knew it my house was up in flames. I cornered Ozzy and grabbed the little dude, full on put a death grip on his tail to put out the flames and bolted out of the place like my house was on fire! Cuz it was! Claypool's Fancy Live DVD and mockumentary Releases
PR reports: On May 29, renowned bassist and legendary Primus front man LES CLAYPOOL will release FANCY (Prawn Song), his first solo live concert DVD from his 2006 summer tour with his latest group of accomplished players. A major market tour commences May 23 in Minneapolis and wraps July 14 at the All Good Music Festival in Masontown, WV. CLAYPOOL will also perform at the Wakarusa and High Sierra festivals.

FANCY shows the latest band at its peak performance.
