Doctor Says Hendrix May Have Been Murdered
BW&BK reports: The doctor who attempted to revive Jimi Hendrix on the night that the guitarist died believes that it is "plausible" that he was murdered.

John Bannister said that medical evidence was consistent with claims in a book that Hendrix was killed on the orders of his manager, Mike Jeffery.

James "Tappy" Wright, a former road manager who worked for Jeffery, writes in his new memoir, Rock Roadie, that in the early hours of September 18, 1970, a gang hired by Jeffery broke into the London hotel room where Hendrix was staying with his girlfriend, Monika Dannemann, and forced sleeping pills and wine down his throat until he drowned. - more on this story

Former Singer Discusses Strange Van Halen Experience
antiMusic reports: Van Halen III, the pairing of Van Halen with Extreme frontman Gary Cherone was short lived and even Cherone agrees that they didn't make beautiful music together. He discussed the ill-fated teaming in a new interview with KNAC. Here is part of that exchange:

Q: What did you learn or take away from your experience, with regards to being in Van Halen? Cherone: Well, looking back on the three years I spent with Van Halen I guess, if I had to do it all over again I think I would have preferred to tour with them and then put out a record…it would have been a better idea to establish myself first and then hit the studio with the band. At the time it may have looked odd on paper but it actually worked live! I made a concerted effort to do the old Van Halen tunes that Sammy was not doing. I wanted to do the deep cuts…as a live act we did songs their fans had not heard in years! I don't, however; think we made a great record. I think there were some great ideas and some little gems but it was not a great record. I had fun but at times it was like being a stranger in a strange land.

Q: How intimidating was it to be in the band? Cherone: It was very intimidating. Most of the time the criticism just rolled off my back, but if I had a bad night or my throat hurt…sometimes it would get to me but what are you gonna do? I will say, each night when we came into town I would hear the radio DJs take their shots at me and the band, but at the end of most of the shows the same DJs would be backstage and almost apologize to me or at the very least admit that the show was way better than they had originally thought. - read the interview

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, director Chris Weitz revealed that Radiohead front-man Thom Yorke is among those interested in contributing new music.

"Fortunately, I'm not at the stage where I have to turn anybody down yet, because everything is still kind of up in the air," Weitz said, "but I am surprised at some of the bands that have said they're interested. It's kind of great. - more on this story

Rammstein Vs Fans Over Leak
Blabbermouth reports: German music web site Laut.de reports that a brand new Rammstein song entitled "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" has been leaked onto the Internet. Although the German industrial metal band's representatives, Pilgrim Management, have not publicly confirmed the track's authenticity, the fact that Pilgrim is being listed as the registered owner of the www.liebeistfueralleda.de web domain seems to suggest that the song is, in fact, the genuine article.

According to Laut.de, Rammstein's management has threatened legal action against any web sites that post links to the copyright-infringing material.

As a result, Europe's largest Rammstein fan site Rammstein-Austria.com is currently directing all of its traffic to its forum. Other Rammstein fan sites have also reportedly been told to refrain from posting links to the song, which is expected to appear on the band's new studio album. - more on this story

Singled Out: Circle of Fate
antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Danny Charatin from Circle of Fate tells us about "My Religion" from their brand new album. We now turn it over to Danny for the story:

"My Religion" was mixed by Larry Sturm (Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige, Disturbed) at Pressure Point Studios in Chicago, IL. Larry had spent some time with the band mixing and learning what the songs were about. Larry heard the song and said "This song has all of the ingredients of a hit song". After the song was mixed Gary Tannin Mastered it. Gary did a wonderful job bringing out the flavor of the song with his unique style and touch. Michele was inspired to write the lyrics and coming up with the melodies to the song when she observed her parents watching the news.

Their eyes were glued to the T.V. and you could see they were actually feeling the words and images that were being aired and they were outraged. Michele read the lyrics to Danny and sang him the melodies and within minutes the music=2 0came to him. Everything fell right into place. The words to this song are about some of the top stories in the news over the past couple of years. Although nameless, it's funny how history repeats itself. The words to this song will live on and on from this generation to the next. T.V. destroys me, it corrupts me, it engulfs me it's my religion…..Dear God, we hope not.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
