Axl Wants Nothing To Do With Chinese Democracy?
Blabbermouth reports: According to the New York Daily News, Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has "fired and rehired" famed manager Irving Azoff at least three times in the last five weeks, according to a source.

The reclusive rocker is said to be resisting Azoff's pleas to try to revive sales of the band's recent album, "Chinese Democracy". "Axl doesn't want anything to do with it," says the insider. "He won't come out of his house."

A source close to Azoff admits, "Axl is Axl. People get hired and fired all the time in this business." The Bleakest, Darkest Doom Metal Ever Recorded?
PR reports: 'Occult Horror Doom' metal band Moss has completed work on its new album. The sinisterly titled Tombs of the Blind Drugged will drop in North America on July 7th via Rise Above Records.

Hailed as, "the bleakest, darkest doom metal ever recorded," MOSS cooks up eerie "anti-music" that transmits the occult like none other. The band's monstrous groan, which has been described as sounding akin to "An enormous door slamming in the depths of Hell," is an exercise in esoteric, subterranean molten doom metal.

Recorded at Wales' Foel Studios (My Bloody Valentine, Blue Cheer) in the winter of 2008, Tombs of the Blind Drugged sees MOSS' unique brand of extremity and terror reach new depths as monolithic riffs and grim vocals consort with Dr. Phibes-like organ playing, extreme bass frequencies and mysterious "chant atmospheres". - more on this story

David Lee Roth and John 5 Album Goes Digital
PR reports: Wawazat!! Records and Red Stripe Plane Music are pleased to announce the long-anticipated release of DLR BAND to iTunes.

The album is the creation of legendary Van Halen vocalist David Lee Roth and features the song "Slam Dunk," which was a Top 5 rock single. The album was co-written by guitarist John 5 (ex-Marilyn Manson/current Rob Zombie).

From Amazon.com: "Diamond David Lee Roth is back in all his self-congratulatory glory…Roth's voice still oozes with sleaze, and his charisma is palpable…Guitarist John [5] is a studio whiz, capable of approximating Eddie Van Halen's harmonic squeals and lightning-fast leads…the DLR Band sound like prime-era Led Zeppelin, with Roth as frontman. This is certainly a fun listen." - more on this story

Bill's sweet full tone, and clear, distinctive and assertive style has made this San Francisco native one of the most in-demand trumpet players on the Bay Area Music Scene, as well as the entire west coast, for the past 25-years. From Where I Stand features 13 original compositions that will appeal to all tastes as the disc is, as Bill states, "a diverse musical journey," that transcends his unique Neo-Soul and Nu-Jazz styles and Funk influences.

Bill Ortiz has been a member of Carlos Santana's touring band since 2000, landing the gig after performing on the Santana's 1999 smash single Smooth from the multi-Grammy-winning, 30-million selling smash CD, Supernatural. Ortiz also appears on the Grammy-winning single The Game of Love from Santana's 2002 release, Shaman. Carlos Santana states, "Bill articulates the beautiful language of jazz without loosing the purity and innocence of a child. It's a wonderful experience to share music every night with him."

From the sensual and scintillating jazzy opener, AyeJaye, to the rollicking Reggae infused Judgment Day, to the soulful and searing sexiness of Slip Into This and Ease My Mind, each track is, not only, a brilliant showcase of Bill's prodigal trumpet playing, but also a masterwork confirming this San Francisco musician as a compositional genius. - more on this story
