Fall Out Boy Fallout Answered With Humor
Spin had a follow-up article on Thursday which cooled some of the speculation about Fall Out Boy's breakup following their exclusive discussion with frontman Patrick Stump who told them he had left the band (at least for right now).

Instead of a war of words breaking out online over Stump's comments it was met with humor from his (former?) bandmates and friends. Spin has the latest from the FOB camp on their status but they also had these fun exchanges from some of the band's friends.

"For the record: as of right now, I am also quitting Fall Out Boy," Blink-182's Mark Hoppus wrote on Twitter, to which John Mayer said, "I am replacing Mark Hoppus in Fall Out Boy,"

Later, Mayer added: "As de facto leader and bass player of Fall Out Boy, I am thrilled to announce Queensryche's Geoff Tate is our new singer."

Hoppus answered: "As of this moment, I am replacing John Mayer in the band 'John Mayer.'" - What did Pete Wentz have to say?

Janie Hendrix Discusses New Jimi Hendrix Album
Veteran music journalist Larry LeBlanc has an in-depth article and interview with Janie Hendrix, the president/CEO of Experience Hendrix, who handle all things Jimi Hendrix. They cover a variety of topics, here is just one small excerpt where they discuss the new Valleys of Neptune album. Why so long for this album to be issued? Well, after we started Experience Hendrix (in 1995) we knew that we had 10 years of recordings. This (album) was going to be part of the first phase. Then, when we found the Chas Chandler tapes for a box set, that took precedent. Then, along with some of the other releases, we pushed it back to the second phase. Knowing that we would have another 10 more years of music really makes us more valuable to Jimi, and to the record company.

Have you waited too long for this release of unheard tracks given the downward spiral of physical sales, and illegal downloading online? Here it is four decades later (after Jimi's passing). In two years, Jimi would have been 70. Hard to imagine. I don't think we have waited too long because record sales are still doing well. Four months after any given release of an album (by Jimi) it goes "gold," and it increases the catalog. The fans that love Jimi's music are not only loyal, but the older ones have followed him. They have seen Jimi in concert. They are now teaching the younger generation about him. We have fans as young as pre-teens wanting Jimi's music. As every generation goes by, the kids are getting more and more excited about his music.

This "Valleys of Neptune" is an incredible album. It sounds as if it was recorded this year. It's fresh. It's new. It's exciting. It doesn't sound as if it was recorded in the '60s. It sounds as if Jimi here with us today and creating music still.

Ratt Infestation Details
Ratt is proud to announce April 20, 2010 as the release date for their Loud & Proud debut, Infestation, an 11-song opus that is their first studio record in 11 years. The first single, "Best of Me," is scheduled to impact rock radio on February 21. The song is available at all digital stores.

There's been a flurry of activity in the Ratt camp in the past few years. Vocalist Stephen Pearcy has returned to the fold and the band has since signed to Loud & Proud. The legendary Los Angeles rock squad, also featuring guitarist Warren DeMartini, drummer Bobby Blotzer, bassist Robbie Crane and new guitarist Carlos Cavazo, engineered Hollywood's much-heralded Sunset Strip sound in the 1980s.

"We wanted this to be like something that we would have written right after [1984's] Out of the Cellar," Pearcy said. "We definitely went back to basics with the mindset of a band with a lot of excitement and some great songs to get out." Infestation was produced by Elvis Baskette (Chevelle, Alter Bridge.) in the helmer's Virginia studio, marking the first time the band has recorded outside of Los Angeles. The album is full of attitude and of reflection, cycling through a range of emotions. There are party anthems that Ratt are known for alongside more contemplative, thoughtful tunes.

Singled Out: Vampires Everywhere
Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Michael Vampire from Vampires Everywhere tells us about "Immortal Love" from their brand new release "Lost In The Shadows," which hits stores next week (Feb 9). We now turn it over to Michael for the story:

Immortal Love... I guess I should start by saying our new EP "Lost In The Shadows" is a concept album based upon a journal that is found. In this journal contains the writings of Michael Vampire & his journey through life as an immortal. The whole idea came to me in a dream, many dreams to be precise. I felt a voice calling to me & drawing me into a realm of which would change my life forever. Each song on the EP tells a story about a journal entry in Michael Vampire's diary of sorts. It is a tragic tale of love and revenge. However, without a doubt Michael Vampire & his crew are evil. There is no happy ending on the EP only misery. I choose "Immortal Love" as the first single because it tells the tale of destiny. It describes how a girl is trapped within herself battling her true emotions, which is brought out by the dark figure within her dreams. Everyone has evil inside them, but few people ever show that side to the public. Our actress in the video ( Trishelle Cannatella) really brings my vision to life. I pictured a pretty valley girl type being lured to the dark side. The girl has "Nightmare On Elm Street" type dreams about this dark male figure luring her deeper & deeper into her dark soul. The dark figure also keeps showing up in real life circumstances , like at a party or at her college. At first she's freaked out by him, but then horror turns to intrigue. By the end of the story she meets face to face with the dark character, which is Michael Vampire. She is then bitten and turned to the dark side where she always belonged. The reason I keep emphasizing "where she belongs" is mainly due to my belief in destiny. I believe we are all put here on this earth for a reason and these reasons come to fruition during different life changing events. Many people choose not to follow their true instincts and thus are stuck in a limbo of misery and misfortune. Others follow their heart and create amazing things for themselves. I guess this notion could be a double edge sword, however, in this story evil is the release and the right choice.

The music surrounding the story is a combination of many different influences. However, we had a hard time labeling ourselves into a genre after hearing the final product. Since the whole band considers themselves "real vampires" we figured "Vampire Rock" would fit us just fine. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I didn't factor in what the critics would say about us. Haha, in fact i felt it was time to challenge these close minded ideals and maybe break down some walls. The whole band figured it would be immoral to fake who we really are and just try to fit in. We were all sick of the labels being put onto bands with energy and a dark image so we decided to follow our hearts. Many critics will try pin point us as "Trend Hounds" , or people that see something happening in commercial America & jump aboard the trend. However, anyone that knows me personally knows that I've been this way since I was born & embraced. I grew up watching Bela Lugosi & Dark Shadows. It's not my fault that my life revolves around the undead & unexplained social phenomena. It is my destiny to be exactly where i am right now & that is in Vampires Everywhere!

As far as the recording we choose Paul Leavitt to produce our EP for many different reasons. However, the number one reason had to be his amazing ear. This man really hears everything going on within the production of the record itself. We also thought it would be amazing to record with a producer that would be out of his element with our production. We felt a typical "dark" producer would just not do! We needed a pop producer to lure to the dark side. We all felt it would give a different feel to the record and would definitely put a different spin on things. Paul did an amazing job capturing our sound. I think we made the wise decision recording with him. Also Baltimore was an amazing location to record in. The city provides a mixture of eclectic art and visual sadness. The city was definitely an inspiration for the EP.

The Band is proud of "Lost In The Shadows" and we believe we followed our hearts without hesitation. The single "Immortal Love" will definitely turn some heads and help lure people into our vision. I guess i would also have to thank the magical work of Scott Hansen as well. Scott shot our video in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Va. The temperature was in the low 30's when we shot the band performance scenes & dropped even lower during the actual acting scenes. The whole band felt like they were dying throughout the whole process. Now, most bands would have complained and copped out. We kept on trucking like soldiers during the whole process. I was saved a couple of times by hot chocolate and coffee. My lungs didn't appreciate massive quantities of movement in such weather. However, the final product was way beyond our imagination. To be honest I'm amazed by the final product. I think the hardest thing to do in the entertainment industry, especially with music, is to get your point across to another creative person. It's hard enough to create something out of nothing, but then to pass this vision on to another is a whole other story. I think the video captured exactly who we are and what we look like. I'm super proud of our work on it and i think other people will appreciate it as well.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!

Something To Burn Announce Tour With Fair To Midland And Karnivool
September 2009 saw the release of Something To Burn's critically acclaimed debut album "Transitions" on Soft Drive Records, the record label founded by Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland. After playing a handful of shows last year with Stone Temple Pilots and some successful headlining shows of their own, Something To Burn are gearing up to hit the road this spring with Fair to Midland and Karnivool. The tour starts March 23rd in San Antonio, TX and wraps up August 14th in Denver, CO.

Lead singer Greg Wayne, had the following to say about the upcoming tour: "Imagine a caged tiger...pacing back & forth...aching to get back out into the wild...dying to do what it was put on this earth to do. Well, Something To Burn is that tiger and we are finally being set free this spring. I'd do everything I could to catch one of these shows if I were you...just sayin"

Something To Burn have emerged from a pool of influences a lot deeper than your typical I-Pod shuffle button. They've been raised on music, not the radio, and they know how they want music to sound… And more importantly, they know how they want music to feel. From the classic rock upbringing of the Ballard twins-whose musical tastes were shaped by their seven older brothers and sisters, to Norman's guitar god meets rhythm and blues fusion, and to the Maynard James Keenan meets Ray Charles vocal colors of Wayne, it's all about what happens when their chemical backgrounds blend. - more on this story

Jellyfish's Jason Falkner Returns With New Album
Jason Falkner is set to return with another infectious blast of his signature power-pop with his latest album, I'm Ok, You're Ok, to be released February 16 on Cobraside.

The 11-track LP, which marks Falkner's first solo release of original material in more than five years, overflows with the requisite hooks, impeccable arrangements and sticky melodies that have made him a favorite of critics, music lovers and fellow musicians since his early beginnings in the Prince-approved neo-psychedelic band The Three O'Clock and San Francisco psych-poppers Jellyfish.

I'm OK, You're OK shows Falkner in exceptional form, far better than the album title suggests, and he readily proves this as the record kicks off with the palpable urgency of "This Time," a swirling dose of keys and fuzzy guitar coupled with a propulsive beat and Falkner's soaring vocals. In true Falkner form, his songs bounce from the Brian Eno-esque pop of "Stephanie Tells Me," to the solemn snythpop of "Hurricane" and the gorgeous, string-filled, acoustic album closer, "This Life Of Mine." - more on this story

Mishka Sets Release of Butch Walker Produced Album
Named 2009's Best New Artist by digital music leader iTunes, j.k. livin artist Mishka releases his new album, "Talk About," on March 30th 2010. Mega-producer Butch Walker (Pete Yorn, Pink, Fall Out Boy) infuses some of his mainstream melodies on two of the tracks for the much-anticipated sophomore album.

Setting the tone for the self-described "album of movement," the lead single "Bittersweet" began as a studio experiment before evolving into a musical space that surprised even its creator. "When I brought the song to the band it was extremely raw—just a few chords and a couple lyrics played at a modest tempo," says Mishka. "But as we started jamming on it, it started to move into an up-tempo track like I've never recorded before—a place, musically, that is brand new to me."

Two of the tracks on "Talk About", "Stars Will Be Shining" and album opener "Give Them Love," are the product of collaboration with super producer Butch Walker. The pair was introduced by label owner, album co-producer, and Hollywood icon Matthew McConaughey.

The Art Of Shooting Set Album Release
A basement with no windows saw the birth of songwriting that came from the overactive pelvis, and a love of the ugly and loud. Out of that Brooklyn dungeon arose The Art Of Shooting and their debut full-length Traveling Show, out April 27, 2010.

Traveling Show is an intensely personal work for The Art Of Shooting's singer/songwriter/guitarist Kelly Irene Corson, who growls, shrieks and hums with a vibrato vocally evocative of Siouxsie Sioux and Chrissie Hynde balanced with the tenderness and vulnerability of St. Vincent and Feist.

This album is a documentary nod to Corson's self- discovery of her truths. Lyrically and dynamically, Traveling Show is a raw look at life. "Truth till it can be humiliating," attests Corson. "It's empowering to show your imperfections as a point of pride in who you really are." - more on this story

The Jim Jones Revue Announce U.S. Live Debut
Europe's hottest underground rock'n'roll sensation The Jim Jones Revue crash land into SXSW 2010 to make their keenly anticipated US live debut. The JJR count Jack White, Mick Jones and Chris Robinson among their fans and are eagerly looking forward to bringing their unique brand of sonic brutality to America. The London powerhouse quintet have been described as…. "James Brown fronting the MC5 with Little Richard guesting on piano." !!!

The Jim Jones Revue kicked off the New Year with a ringing endorsement from Mojo magazine, who tipped the JJR as one of their hot acts for 2010. In early February, The JJR will headline a sold out Mojo Club show at The Jazz Cafι in Central London, before heading into the Assault & Battery 2 studio to record their new album with Jim Sclavunos from The Bad Seeds/Grinderman producing. After the album is recorded, they depart for SXSW for a series of showcases and parties which will be announced very soon! As soon as the band returns to London, they will embark on a 17 date tour of the UK & Ireland in late March and April…..

It's a fitting start to the decade for a band that worked their fingers down to their fretboards & keyboards in 2009 - a year that saw them hit the ground running, on the back of the release (towards the end of 2008) of their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album and the subsequent singles collection, 'Here To Save Your Soul'. In addition, they performed live sessions for key BBC Radio taste makers Marc Riley, Tom Robinson, Mark Lamarr and XFM's John Kennedy, conducted sell-out tours of the UK and Europe and opened up for Dead Weather (at the personal invitation of Jack White, after super-fan BBC DJ Steve Lamacq's on-air appeal for him to check out the band was heeded). In each instance they've left audiences, listeners and the occasional sound engineer in a state of shock and awe and have more than lived up to their reputation as Europe's wildest and hardest rocking band.

Says the director, "I imagined the band as these sort of rag tag knights, skating through an urban landscape, and then breaking kids free from a school. Chad [Stokes, frontman] and I spent several days together hashing out the story elements, bringing in stuff from our childhood - bows and arrows, running from cops, and horses!" - Video here
