Unsigned Dream Warped

02/09/07
.
(PR) SABIAN, Ltd., the award-winning cymbal manufacturer, announced that it is launching SABIAN Dream Spot, a promotional contest that will give one lucky undiscovered band a chance to play 10 dates on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour. The winning band will play on the “Kevin Says” stage, the launching pad for numerous SABIAN bands including “My Chemical Romance,” “Fall out Boy,” “Avenged Sevenfold” and “All American Rejects.” In a ‘battle of the bands’ style format, SABIAN, with partner Cafesonique.com, will accept online submissions between February 1 and April 14. The winning band will be announced on June 16. SABIAN Dream Spot is the largest contest in the company’s history, according to Stacey Montgomery-Clark, SABIAN’s director of marketing.

• Beginning February 1, participating bands can visit www.sabian.com or www.cafesonique.com and submit a video, three original songs in MP3 format and a brief bio about their band.
• Between April 14 and May 31 a selection committee made up of SABIAN’s artist relations personnel, and Vans Warped Tour representatives including Kevin Lyman, Founder of the Warped Tour, will select the top 10 entrants.
• On June 1, the 10 finalists’ videos and songs will be posted online for consumer voting.
• The SABIAN Dream Spot winner, the band receiving the most fan votes, will be announced on June 16, and the lucky winner will hit the road with the Vans Warped Tour in August.

Along with winning 10 Vans Warped Tour dates, the band will also receive $10,000 in band gear credit at a participating retailer; a one-year SABIAN endorsement for the band’s drummer; and a one-year 3D micro-site on cafesonique.com.
