Lucinda Williams Reaches New High

02/23/07
.
(PR) The press has spoken, music fans have responded and the numbers are in. Three-time Grammy Award winning artist Lucinda Williams’ new album West (Lost Highway) debuts at #14 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart, making it her highest debut in over two decades of making music. West scanned 57, 452 copies in its first week, making this Lucinda’s highest sales week ever. Her previous high points were in 2003 when her Grammy-nominated album World Without Tears debuted at #18 and sold 53,783 copies in it’s first week.

On top of an impressive first week, Lucinda has reached another milestone by selling out her first-ever performance at New York’s legendary Radio City Music on March 23rd.

Released on February 13, West is Lucinda’s eighth studio album and was co-produced by Hal Willner. Known for her honest, emotional and lyrically brilliant songwriting, West is being considered Lucinda’s best work since her landmark 1998 album Car Wheels On A Gravel Road. The response from the press has been overwhelming:
