Yeah Yeah Yeahs Going to China

09/05/07
.
(antiMusic) The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are confirmed to headline the Modern Sky Festival in Beijing on Oct 4. The band seem pretty excited about the prospect. They announced the appearance on their Myspace page. Here is what they had to say:
YEAH YEAH YEAHS TO ROCK CHINA! China to rock yeah yeah yeahs is more like it...

The far east beckons and YYYs are off to play our mad music at the MODERN SKY FEST in HAIDIAN PARK BEIJING on October 4th- What better year to make our debut than the year of the Fire Pig? It's a dangerous cocktail: China, YYYs, pigs, fire...anyone got a light?

Here is what organizers had to say about the festival: The first Modern Sky Festival, organized by the renowned Chinese indie label Modern Sky, will feature a slew of anticipated Chinese and international acts, and be headlined by the American rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The line-up announced by Modern Sky on Monday reveals that 120 or so bands and musicians are to present a three-day rock banquet beginning on October 2 at Haidian Park. Such active local bands as Re-TROS, Joyside, PK14, Car-sick Cars, and Snapline are among the performers.
