(antiMusic) At least U2 waits a few decades, instead of months, to reissue their albums as deluxe editions (Yes, Roadrunner we are talking about you). On July 22nd Universal will unleash the remasters and deluxe editions of the first three U2 albums, "Boy," "October" and "War". Fans will be able to choose from the standard remastered single disc reissue, a deluxe edition with a bonus disc of goodies and a vinyl edition. The "Boy," deluxe will include the previously unreleased tracks "Speed of Life," "Saturday Night" and "Cartoon World" and a previously unreleased mix of "I Will Follow." They also toss in some live versions of "Boy-Girl" and "11 O'Clock Tick Tock".
"October" extras will be of the live variety with tracks from a performance at London's Hammersmith Palais and as well as at Boston's Paradise Theatre, including "Gloria" and "I Will Follow." Also on tap is a BBC session with Richard Skinner and for those that are into bogus world of remixes, this bonus disc will include the Common Ground's remix of "Tomorrow."
Finally the "War" bonus offers up only one previously unreleased track "Angels Too Tied to the Ground." Then a bunch of pointless remixes of "New Year's Day" and "Two Hearts Beat as One," plus the 7-inch single edit of "New Year's Day."
No word on what will be included on the vinyl editions but we'll pass that info along when we have it.
