OK Go To Make History This Weekend

06/10/2010
.
OK Go will make Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival history this weekend by being the first band to premier a new video at the event.

The band have announced that they will premiere their latest video, "End Love," at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this Saturday, June 12th, at the Lunar Stage at approximately 1:20 p.m. EST - just before the USA/England World Cup game.

"End Love" will be the first video ever to premiere at the festival. OK Go, who play Bonnaroo this Friday. The new video will go live next Tuesday, June 15th, at www.okgo.net. OK Go encourages fans to check it out and embed it wherever they please.

Details regarding a special "End Love" contest will be announced on the band's website next week. "End Love"is the latest in a series of videos the band is creating to accompany the songs on its album, Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky. Like OK Go's previous clips, "End Love" was shot in one take - but in this instance, the take was 21 hours long.

Using time-lapse photography, it follows the band from one day to the next, as they unfurl their sleeping bags at a park near their hometown of Silverlake, CA and kick up their heels the next morning with a group of volunteer dancers.

OK Go, the most-downloaded band ever, will re-release Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky, on June 29th on its own label, Paracadute. It will be distributed in the U.S. by RED, a division of Sony Music Entertainment that is widely recognized as the industry leader in music distribution and artist development, and by ADA in the rest of the world.

"We are thrilled to have OK Go and their label Paracadute in the RED family," says Bob Morelli, President of RED. "The band is an incredibly groundbreaking cultural phenomenon. The massive success of their ingenious viral videos and innovative live performances is truly unique. We look forward to a wonderful partnership and great sales success together."

To celebrate the re-release, OK Go is adding two new tracks to Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky- Passion Pit's remix of current single "This Too Shall Pass," which was NME's Download of the Day earlier this year, and "Louisiana Land." The latter song was inspired by the time the band spent in New Orleans, recording You're Not Alone with Bonerama, an EP that raised more than half of the money needed to build soul legend Al "Carnival Time" Johnson's new home in New Orleans after the levy failures that followed Hurricane Katrina.
