Richard Thompson Celebrates New album and Les Paul Award With Free Download

Richard Thompson has finishing his new album Dream Attic, which is set for an August 31 release on Shout! Factory. Thompson also just received the Les Paul Award at the 2010 MOJO Honours Awards show held on June 10 in London. Additionally, Southbank Centre in the UK has chosen Thompson as the Artistic Director of the 17th Meltdown festival scheduled for June 12 20, 2010, taking place in the concert halls and spaces of London's most celebrated riverside arts centre, including Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall. Previous artists chosen to curate the festival include David Bowie, Patti Smith, Massive Attack, and Ornette Coleman. Thompson fans anticipating his forthcoming album Dream Attic, due out August 31 on Shout! A fantastic collection of 13 new songs recorded live, Dream Attic captures the awesome energy of his live show and features many jaw-dropping solo forays by Thompson.
