Dangerbird Records is proud to announce an agreement for Dangerbird's Licensing Division to represent the legendary music of Peter Tosh and Gram Parsons for film & television music licensing opportunities. Under the terms of the deal between Dangerbird and the respective Estates, Dangerbird will seek placements for Tosh and Parsons compositions in film, television, trailers, promos, advertisements and video games. Both Estates are managed by JAM, Inc.Peter Tosh was a pivotal force in the development of reggae music. As one of the founding members of The Wailers, Tosh was the ultimate firebrand, relentlessly speaking out against oppression and injustice, in both his songs and public statements. Tosh demonstrated the power of personal and artistic integrity alongside pride and defiance in the face of authoritarian power. His music's insurrectionary fervor has inspired artists of all stripes, from reggae disciples to punk-rock acolytes like The Clash, with globally-recognized songs such as "Legalize It," "Equal Rights," "Get Up Stand Up" and "(You Gotta Walk) Don't Look Back." Gram Parsons has been ranked one of the most influential artists of all time and credited as one of the founders of country rock, as well as alt-country. Parsons' collaborative compositions, often with Emmylou Harris, and stunning solo catalogue include such stellar songs as "Love Hurts," "A Song for You," "She," "Ooh Las Vegas" and "Return of the Grievous Angel." Gorgeously melodic, witty and deep, Gram's material filters the structural and stylistic genius of classic country through a contemporary pop sensibility and his evocative delivery showed him to be an interpretive vocalist of the highest order.
