Nappy Roots Pursuit of Nappyness Coming In June, Ride Out Today

Since Nappy Roots entered the music scene in 1998, they have remained real, humble, talented guys with inherent, undeniable southern swagger. After the international success of Watermelon, Chicken, & Grits, selling over 3 million albums, the members of Nappy Roots have celebrated over 12 years of sustainability within the music industry and are now poised for the release of their sixth studio release and self-proclaimed best and most honest work --The Pursuit of Nappyness, slated to hit shelves on June 15, 2010. In honor of the release, Tuesday, March 23 their debut single, "Ride," from the forthcoming album will be available on iTunes and everywhere digital music is sold.
Skinny Deville calls "Ride," "a sample of what's to come from The Pursuit of Nappyness." He continues, "The new album features a lot of natural elements like we did on Watermelon, Chicken & Grits. It's acoustic and has that live and organic instrumentation feel to it."
Nappy Roots has teamed up again with producers J and DJ KO of Phivestarr Productions. The signature string-heavy beats of Phivestarr are the perfect complement to Nappy's sound. The Pursuit of Nappyness will be released on NREG /AVJ Records/ Fontana. Nappy Roots will continue to tour in support of their forthcoming releases and new single.
