The Fab Faux Announce Benefit Concert for School Destroyed by Fire
03/29/2010
.
The Fab Faux have confirmed an April 11th Benefit Concert for West Babylon's South Bay Elementary School. In February, the school was destroyed by a fire, and will now need to be rebuilt from the ground up. Over 300 displaced students have been relocated to the town's church, where they will continue their studies. The blaze was so intense that 16 fire departments joined efforts to control it. West Babylon is the hometown of Fab Faux drummer Rich Pagano, who describes efforts to organize the local benefit in the days following the devastating fire: "School Superintendent Anthony Cacciola reached out to us since he was aware of my hometown connection to West Babylon and he happens to be a Fab Faux fan. He stressed that the school had insurance but that it did not cover all of the materials. The band was eager to help. I also recruited my childhood rock radio station, WBAB (based in West Babylon) to get the word out and Will Lee brought in the D' Addario/Evans company (also Long Island-based) to donate musical instrument accessories." more about the fire
