Playing For Change With Baaba Maal At The Hollywood Bowl

05/26/2010
.
Playing For Change will perform with Baaba Maal at KCRW's World Festival at The Hollywood Bowl on June 20. This incredible bill also includes Brooklyn-based prog rockers Yeasayer, soul rebels from the southern Sahara desert Tinariwen and the tropical Afro-Pop sounds of Fool's Gold.

The Playing For Change band, which consistent of 10 musicians from around the globe, are performing select dates for the first time since their triumphant 2009 world tour to celebrate their upcoming release.

Playing For Change struck a deep and powerful chord last year when their version of the song "Stand By Me" earned over 30 million views online and was followed by a Top 10 debut of the CD/DVD Playing For Change - Songs Around The World. The project then inspired a PBS documentary as well as a world tour featuring many of the musicians who appeared in the now ubiquitous "Stand By Me" video.

These riveting and memorable performances from the 2009 tour have been captured on a special two-disc CD/DVD, Playing For Change Live, which is set for release on June 15th through Concord Music Group.
