Josh Charles has announced the release of his forthcoming EP titled Trippin' The Keys: The Music of Jimi Hendrix. The EP will feature a fresh perspective on Jimi Hendrix classics all played on the piano. The free digital release will drop Tuesday, November 16, 2010. The unique EP features Charles on piano and solo vocal. Charles' ability to break down classics of Jimi Hendrix on piano is a testament to his amazing talent (Keep in mind he was mentored by Dr John!). The tracklist for the EP includes, Little Wing, All Along the Watchtower, Hey Joe and Voodoo Chile. Charles will host an EP release performance on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at City Winery. The performance will include tracks from the forthcoming EP. Charles stated, "My goal for the EP was to imagine if Jimi was a piano player rather than a guitar virtuoso, what would it sound like with him singing and playing his songs by himself."
