The Day in Rock Digest for 2/14/11: Vulgar Display Of Blog have posted an article confirming that Motley Crue will tour the US and Canada with Poison and the New York Dolls. The blog has posted an album release sheet reportedly from Fontana North Distribution which reveals that Motley Crue, Poison and New York Dolls will tour Canada in the summer of 2011. more

Speaking of the New York Dolls, Framus sent over word that Earl Slick, best known for his spectacular guitar work on David Bowie's albums 'David Live' (1974), 'Young Americans' (1975) and 'Station To Station' (1976), has officially joined the New York Dolls as their new guitarist on their forthcoming UK tour dates. more

Grammy recap: Iron Maiden's "The Final Frontier" took home the Best Metal Performance Grammy (not aired, despite the fact that metal outsells Rap and R&B).

The Black Keys' "Tighten Up" won Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and their album, "Brothers" won Best Alternative Music Album.

Paul McCartney's "Helter Skelter" won Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.

Muse's "The Resistance" won Best Rock Album

Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" won the big honor of the night, the Album of the Year Award

Them Crooked Vultures' "New Fang" won Best Hard Rock Performance.

Jeff Beck's "Hammerhead" won Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

And the Grammy for the best modern pop recording without the use of auto-tune went to: Doesn't exist but if it did, would anyone qualify in 2011??? Maybe something the record co suits might think about the next time they ponder why their sales are down.

Arms Of The Sun have parted ways with bassist Rex Brown (Down, ex-Pantera). An official statement from singer Lance Harvill reads as follows: "We have had a situation where we could never see eye to eye concerning the business and creative sides of the band. I love Rex as a friend but if I say it's red he sees it as blue. It doesn't make either of us right or wrong but the songs were written long before Rex ever joined this band, so not getting to make executive decisions over certain creative aspects of the band created a problem for me." more

Decrepit Birth will miss shows booked from February 21st through March 6th.Thier drummer Samus has been forced into legal obligations which are preventing him from leaving his home state of New Jersey until early March. more
