Columbia Records sent over word that The Avett Brothers Grammy performance with Bob Dylan and Mumford & Sons has their album I and Love and You shooting back up the charts. Originally released in late 2009, I and Love and You is enjoying a second round of success following the Avett Brother's performance of their hit song "Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise" on last week's Grammy Awards.
This year marked the highest viewership for the Grammy Awards, helping the Avett Brothers sell an impressive 23,000 singles within 48 hours of the show's broadcast.
Immediately following the live Grammy telecast, The Avett Brothers topped the iTunes Top Songs and Top Album chart. The band also reached "volcanic" status on Google searches as well as becoming a trending topic on Twitter. The traffic to the band's site increased 525%.
Additionally, The Avett Brothers experienced a 256% sales increase, which was a higher increase than even that of other performers Arcade Fire, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Antebellum and Bruno Mars.
With performances by such big stars as Usher, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Rihanna, Drake and Mick Jagger, the Avett Brothers stood out on music's biggest night to do what they do best; play real music as only they know how, honest and true.
