Neil Peart Talks Rush's Moving Pictures

06/06/2011
.
(hennemusic) Rush recently released the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of their 1981 classic, "Moving Pictures," complete with an audiophile surround sound mix, music videos, rare photos, and more.

At quadruple platinum in the U.S., "Moving Pictures" was the band's eighth studio album and remains its biggest selling release to date, highlighted by the group's best-known track, "Tom Sawyer," as well as the hit "Limelight," radio favorite "Red Barchetta" and Grammyฎ-nominated instrumental "YYZ."

In a new interview recorded for CBC-TV Canada's "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight," drummer Neil Peart was asked to break down the album song-by-song. "That was an important time musically and a great time for the three of us in terms of having a good time and sharing our goals and making music," says Peart. "There was nothing self-indulgent or so-called pretentious about it. It was true boyish enthusiasm that was involved in creating all those things. We were progressing and learning and developing taste at the same time." more on this story
