(Antiquiet) Flea took it to Twitter to announce that the Red Hot Chili Pepper's new record is finally coming on August 30, entitled I'm With You. Coming 5 years after their last album, Stadium Arcadium, I'm With You is set to be the first without Frusciante since 1995's One Hot Minute (which featured Dave Navarro on the guitar). more

On this day in 1979, Def Leppard played at Crookes Workingman's Club in Sheffield. The gig was reviewed in the U.K. music paper Sounds, which led to a recording contract with Phonogram Records.

On this day in 2002, The Ramones bassist Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Glenn Colvin) died at his Hollywood, CA apartment from a heroin overdose. He was 49. Colvin was the group's primary songwriter, penning such classic Ramones songs as "Rockaway Beach," "'53rd & 3rd'" and "Poison Heart."

On this day in 2003, a High court judge in London ruled that rap lyrics should be treated as a foreign language after admitting that he was unsure of the meaning of "shizzle my nizzle" and "mish mish man."
