(Rock News Desk) Former Runaways Joan Jett and Cherie Currie have filed a lawsuit to prevent the release of a tribute album dedicated to the 70s all-girl band.Main Man Records are planning to put out a collection of covers recorded by 36 bands, including contributions from New York Dolls frontman David Johansen and the Dandy Warhols. The label says the net profits will be donated to the American Institute of Cancer Research in memory of Runaway Sandy West, who died in 2006.
But the bandmates say their reputations have been used to market a product they haven't approved, and it's all because some people in the label used to have connections with them. more on this story
