(Gibson) Rock legend Bob Dylan has been snubbed by officials in London. Dylan had been nominated for the Freedom of Haringey to mark his recent 70th birthday and his long connections to the borough. Dylan has been a frequent visitor to the area of London that Dave Stewart calls home since the 1980s.The plan was for Dylan to be given his honor when he played the Feis festival in London on the weekend of June 18. Unfortunately, the Borough of Haringey turned Dylan down.
According to the Daily Express, a spokesperson for the council said, "We are grateful for (the) suggestion, but the Freedom of the Borough is usually reserved for individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to life in the borough." more on this story
