Rolling Stones Concert Film Coming to TV and Theaters

11/09/2012
.
The concert film featuring a classic Rolling Stones show is set to be premiere on Directv's Audience Network on November 10th and will also be screened in theaters. We were sent these details:

The twelve-part series continues with the broadcast of its third film, The Rolling Stones Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965, which will premiere on Saturday, November 10th at 9pm ET/PT. The film joins the documentaries, Battle for Brooklyn and Big Boys Gone Bananas!* in the Something to Talk About series. From award-winning and acclaimed writers and directors, each documentary featured will include a special, hosted introduction and will conclude with a filmmaker interview that provides insight into the making of the documentary. The films will also be available on DIRECTV on Demand, DIRECTV Everywhere, on home video and via electronic sell-thru.

The Rolling Stones Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965's broadcast run on Directv's Audience Network is scheduled to air shortly after the film's theatrical release. The program will be hosted by journalist and iconic pop-culture newscaster Kurt Loder and features a post film discussion between former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters founder, Dave Grohl and legendary music producer, the Rolling Stones first manager and the film's producer, Andrew Loog Oldham.

With the release of The Rolling Stones Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965, ABKCO Films presents a meticulously restored and fully-realized version of this first-ever, legendary, but never officially released film. Originally directed by pioneering filmmaker Peter Whitehead and again, produced by the Stones first manager Andrew Loog Oldham, the film was shot during a weekend tour of Ireland just weeks after "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" hit # 1 on the charts. This brand new cut of the film, produced by the GRAMMY© Award-winning duo of producer Robin Klein and director Mick Gochanour, showcases dramatic new found & never-before-seen concert footage – including electrifying performances of "The Last Time," "Time Is On My Side" and the first ever concert performance of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." CIMD is an intimate, behind-the-scenes diary of life on the road with the young Stones. It features the first professionally filmed concert performances of the band and documents the early frenzy of their fans and the riots the band's appearances ignited.

Jody Klein, ABKCO's CEO, commented, "We are delighted to partner with DIRECTV and Brainstorm Media to offer this singular opportunity to witness rock history as it was being made. Charlie Is My Darling, as viewers will find out for themselves, offers unparalleled insight into the band's music, creative process and personalities. The film brilliantly documents their intersection, back in September of 1965, with Irish fans whose unbridled enthusiasm resulted in moments of orgasmic combustion."

Meyer Shwarzstein, president of Brainstorm Media stated, "The Stones' influence on rock'n'roll and their commentary on our world continue to have an impact 50 years later. It's a great fit for Something to Talk About - our theatrical partners are very excited about it. On a personal note - I've played Stones songs and my first job was as GM of a rock'n'roll magazine so this is a real privilege. I'm grateful to ABKCO and to Directv for working with us to make this happen."

Brainstorm Media is proud to announce that The Rolling Stones Charlie Is My Darling -Ireland 1965 will begin its theatrical run in select markets later this month. Confirmed markets and theatres will be announced shortly.
