Over Half of Justin Bieber's Twitter Followers Are Fake?
. That site claims that only 17.8 million of Bieber's record breaking 37.3 million followers are linked to real accounts, according to the BBC. They report that Socialbakers search for fake accounts by looking at the number of followers and seeing if there were genuine tweets posted on the account, rather than spam. They reportedly also considers accounts fake if they continuously tweet phrases like "diet", "make money" and "work from home". Bieber took the crown as the person with the most Twitter followers from Lady Gaga in January but Socialbakers reports that Gaga's "real" followers number 19 million which places her ahead of Bieber by their count.
