Carrie Underwood Releases Dark Two Black Cadillacs Video

01/28/2013

(Radio.com) If Carrie Underwood's music videos were true, then "Two Black Cadillacs" would be proof that her criminal actions are escalating.

And this is from an artist whose 2006 video for "Before He Cheats" showed her brandishing a Louisville Slugger to destroy the cheater's "souped up four-wheel drive."

Fast forward seven years. In her new music video for "Two Black Cadillacs," Underwood's character has resorted to murder. "The women in the two black veils didn't bother to cry," she sings, "bye-bye, bye-bye."

Sitting down for an interview last fall with Steve Grunwald of Detroit's WYCD, Carrie admitted the song was rather dark. But she also said the album on which the song lives, Blown Away, is on the whole very much unafraid of the dark.

"When we were writing ["Two Black Cadillacs"], the story was just so juicy," she said (Carrie cowrote the song with Josh Kear and Hillary Lindsey). "It's such a visual song, you can see it all playing out in your head when you're listening." Watch the video here.
