Lights Over Paris Frontman Facing Prison For $6 Million Loan Fraud
. Authorities said on Friday that the 30-year-old singer was charged with making a false statement in a loan application, according to Billboard. They report that the alleged fraud began in August 2009 and lasted for almost two years with Mawhinney obtained almost $6.2 million via four loans from Comerica Inc., according to court documents. He reportedly provided statements to obtain the loans which claimed that he had almost $8 million in assets; however his account had only about $10,000 in it, according to authorities.
